If you're into various music, you can hang out at Sound Central ... dude has coffee and soft-drinks available so you can chill and check out the CDs and Records -- 4486 Coloniale (corner of Mont Royal)

For bars, take your pick, they all suck nowadays :P

For parks/green-spaces, you can just check the map of Montreal to find 'em but besides Mount Royal, Lafontaine park, and that big greenspace near the Olympic Stadium (park DeMaissoneuve?), the rest of the places (that I've seen) are small or have nothin' going on. Actually there is one more cool park spot but I can't remember where it is -- around Parc and Jean-Talon, I think o_O (anyone know what I'm talking about?), it's got a little pond, and it seems fairly secluded when you're in it.

Some chilling spots along the Lachine Canal if you like biking.

There's Manga Tea on St.Denis if you dig comics and tea.

That's all I can think of off the top of my head - but honestly in such a big city you'd think there'd be more awesome places to chill ...

I assume they might not have insurance on their stock, on top of the fact that it all has to be re-printed ... shame.

It's a really shitty situation, especially since they're all indie labels, working hard.

That's the problem with rioters, they never burn down the right building :/

I think the point is: we might be happy to note that some assholes are assholes in places where the consequences are far more severe than here.

Y'know, I just realized that with the size of the venue, you're all getting some pretty exclusive shit! Jappo and Satronica have played in arenas for 25,000 people, but in Montreal only about 200 of you will have the opportunity to see these two legends! That's almost evil of me :P

But don't worry, there should be enough space for everyone (get your tix to make sure) as well as ventilators/fans (plural!) and a water/nrg-drink bar to make everyone comfortable ;)

Obviously, I only do events once a year or two, so I'm working hard on making this an experience, and not just another regular party =)

Seriously, and I don't see where they're getting some of their reactions, but oh well, people will read into what they want I guess ...

Btw, venue is very accessible and in the Plateau area. Smack in the middle of Montreal so that it's attainable by anyone from anywhere, but space is limited, so get your tix in advance :)

That's part of the Cyber style, I guess, probably influenced by the club-scene, and the same stuff that influenced the rave scene - it's also very sci-fi, but I see your point, there is some obvious run-off from ravers in there ... it's alright in limited doses (just like drugs! ) ...

You know I disagree with you there ... I think the Industrial scene pop-ified itself without the influence from ravers. And drugs, well, we both love Skinny Puppy, and they ain't ravers, but were definitely high as fuck :P

Meh, drugs.

Yeah, seeing junkies and friends abusing hard drugs, and fucking up their lives royally, is not too cool. I think most people here know that, first hand or from observation.

And yes, 'curiosity' has been an excuse, rather than a justification, for consumption for ages.

However, this world sucks and blows, so it's understandable if small factions of the human population decide that being high is better than being sober. When I look around, I can't blame them. On the other hand, letting things get out of hand, where it becomes a sick addiction, doesn't really help the situation, nor does it help the world be a better place.

I think most people know me as being one of the 'sober guys' in a party, but they also know I would never judge them for their personal drug choices.

If you see a crack-head in the street, ignore them. If you see a friend headed down the paths of misfortune due to addiction, help them. If you see some people you know toke on a J, or munch on a gram of mush, then smile politely and let 'em have their trip.

Of course, the more people frown on over-consumption, maybe the less kids will over-abuse. I find it OK to experiment and experience, if you're informed and responsible. But then, most people do drugs to escape those exact things. So, paradox.

Well, I love bass. Techno is nothing without bass. However, since I'm into Hardcore, where all the distortion is, mids and highs are much appreciated, 'cause that how we hear all that crazy distortion!

You can put all the disto you want on a bass, but without the clarity, instead of that lovely fuzz all you get is rumbly fart sounds ...

So, I think it's high time ALL the frequencies got their just appreciation ;)
