Hey, Betty, thanks for the Clerks 2 review, I was curious to know whether it was Smith's best movie, or a failed sequel...seems as though it's great, so now I don't have to worry about being dissapointed (like with JerseyGirl)...cool..
Here's a threesome I recently saw:
GREAT - Kung Pow...this film kicks ass...
ALRIGHT - Ong Bak...some martial arts experts wouldn't be impressed, but I was, stunts without strings are always fun, but the instant replays got annoying after a while...
TERRIBLE - Tube...more of an action flick, by Jon Woo, I believe, going with the "who needs a story or an explanation" technique of throwing over the top scenes together, including moments of sappy drama...one of the worst movies I've seen in the past year... ...of course I rent pop movies for entertainment and not inspiration...

Yeah.!.6 days 'til we get to hear him play, 5 days for those going to Quebec the night before, and 4 days for us freaks who get to welcome him back to Canada, beer in hand...and back to 6 days to finally see SulphuricSaliva here in MTL...and when I ask everyone else what they're planning on for the event, well, they have this odd grin on their face...Party time, excellent(sorry, just watched Wayne's World)... shwing...

So, I've informed myself, there will be a Geska table, which means CDs and other shit will be available...cool... and back to the "musical styles" of the night, let's just say say that what ManuLeMalin makes touches on all the types of music that will presented at this event, so if you really like Manu, you'll like the rest. That's what I'm looking forward to at this party, nearly the entire hardcore/industrial family will play, as long as the DJs bookending this night do their job!... ...Anyway, there is only one way to find out... ...

Too bad I couldn't be there with you guys...next time maybe. BTW, it has come to my attention that alot of people don't know what rhythmic noise(communicationzero, sulphuricsaliva) is...well, it's not as harsh as you might think, it's just highly distorted techno, brethren to hardcore but usually just a little slower , trust me, it's danceable and kick ass, derivative of Industrial. Don't be frightened my raver friends, it's just techno!

As Mr.Diplomatic I probably shouldn't say anything (and after the comments you've -superman- left on other threads you seem like a decent person), but posting this party so early, and with a headliner that will be in town in a couple of weeks for another event, is just DISRESPECTFUL...our scene here is alot smaller than it used to be, and if you if you keep SIDESWIPING other promoters, as the Doc has done to me in the past, all you're doing is dividing our forces...so please take it easy for now, man..I know you're probably excited about what you're doing, but there is a way of doing things to help preserve our hardcore scene and help it grow... ...anyway that's Lesson 1... ...your line-up is cool, but take care of the other promoters......(all of the above is nothing more than my opinion)...thx for listening (I'm not an asshole, so if you have a problem just message me)...

Woah, space is pretty limited...probably a good thing...I like it better when the atmosphere is a little more personal and cozy...also makes the field of energy a little more concentrated... ...maybe it's just me, but events with more than 400 people are way too alienating... ...Anyway way, those w/out tix should get there early on the 29th... ...rave on... ...

You guys talkin' about the old brewery?...yeah, there were some good times there...good, dirty, stinky, cold, unhealthy times...the parties were great (thanks Noah) and it's a fine location, but this time around I'm happy it ain't there...I think this event needs a more legal and efficient venue (only 'cause I don't want it busted)...and the fact that it's going to be in a place that hasn't been used yet is a bonus... ...yeah... ...

Betty your pics are great...my predictions for the demise of a global figurehead on the night of a way too hardcore party would be...: the Queen of England herself, by way of asphyxiation...although there is a possibility that she's actually a robot, in which case I'd have to go with our very own S. Harper (note: this is not a threat on the life the primeminister)... ... of course, the funnest part is the surprise, so we'll see when we get there....

don't know if anyone has already mentioned it, but I just saw "It's all gone Pete Tong", by the same dude who made FUBAR...it's about a DJ that goes deaf and all the shit that ensues...I would suggest it to any DJs or fans of the art...though it's centered around the Ibiza scene, it's a fairly accurate, yet silly portrayal of the DJ life, and it's a little sobering too...anyway, it's a mockumentary type film, supposedly based on a true story, so check it out...

well, you're right about one thing Gen, this is definitely the line-up of the year, so far, for MTL...there have been some really fun little parties heere and there, but this year has been looking pretty soft and pale and finally our friends come up with a kick ass party for us...without any filler on the line-up...this is HARDcore, this is Techno.... ....P.T.T.P.

for any fans of Quebec cinema there's a show that has since been cancelled but is available on DVD and consists of sometimes funny but mostly absurd short stories made with a low-budget...it's great (Betty, you know what I'm talking about)..."Phylactere Cola"...it's about 3 years old but I just rented it again so it being fresh in my mind, figured I'd recommend it...yeah...
