well, i had a lot to get off my chest, i guess. And I'm sure I'm gonna get shit on for it :P

wow...i was curious about how this whole project was gonna turn out...of course i knew it would be bullshit. There are people involved in this that i really like, and some i really hate, so i'm prob'ly just gonna piss everyone off... ...First, I understand where Lonestar is comeing from. There has been a drop in quality parties in the past few years (moslty because of venues and poor organization), and this kinda shit is not helping. It seems very amateurish, very weak. You cannot charge people for a lo-fi party and call it a big rave, a big project no less! If this is the future of the rave scene, I quit right fuckin' now. I know that paries (raves) can be anywhere at any time, but don't forget that if you're are puttig on a show you are supplying a product to those paying (and some are spening what little $$ they have), whether you like it or not (and i don't) we live in a capitalist society and that's how it works; if I'm gonna pay for a rave I want decent sound, good equipment, a nice venue, and promoters without any suspicious or egostistical motives. Wheather or not the party takes place in a loft is irrelevent, however, the venue has to be made into a rave-friendly-venue; The Fool was in a loft, but it was a fairly big place, we had no sound constraints and the people living there cleaned out the entire main room so it did not look loftish, and the upstairs was rearranged into a super chill room (plus we had headliners, not that it really matters). I saw the pic from this projectplur, and if I was mixing in a kithen with people doing dishes I'd be pissed. Unless it was a friendly house party. Anyway, I've chilled at that exact loft with the old NTk crew, and it was free, 'casue it was their fuckin' home! When they put on real parties, it was done at another location. Besides, 1619 has been done and burried. So was 1919.
All this said, I've felt really bad for ravers, especially the newer ones, who now think that what we've seen in the past 2 years is what raves are, and what techno is. They're settling for mediocrity! And loving it?! Mind you there were some really really good parties in the past few years, thankfully, but those are few and far between. And the lo-fi parties I enjoyed in the past few years were FREE. Even a crazy warehouse type "strom-rave" would be more relevant at this point.
Anyone been to We Are Slaves, circa 2001? Now THAT was a fuckin' rave...

When are promoters gonna stop being lazy and go out there and find GOOD LOCATIONS!

Anyway, all of this is moot, 'cause this place is either gonna get busted, or people are gonna get bored with the freedomless noise limit, shit sound, and sketchy afterpartiness. Venues very rarely have more than a 6 month life-span, anyway. And that's a fact.

All around good party, good music, good times...of course there were some equipment/set-up issues in the main room, and anyone using the turntables had a rough time playing...but i did appreciate the big sound.

btw, for those who want to know, the track near the end of our set that got the big reaction was: Die Kraft by Lowtek/Jensen/Satronica...it kicks ass... .. .

Life-Saver pipe instructions:
-remove outer wrapper
-remove aluminum wrapping
-create bowl/screen with aluminum
-open both ends of inner wrapper, and insert bowl on one end
-place weed in bowl, put cany side to lips, and smoke away; the hole in the center of each life-saver provides a perfect cylinder
-when done, proceed to eat resinated life-savers...

Note: some of the new packages are cheaper and might not allow for full useage, but you can keep the inner wrapping and use your own bowl... .. .

Sorry mate, but i don't think worrying about getting arrested is pathetic. Since i was arrested last time, i have to "keep the peace". So, if i get arrested again for protesting, i'm in twice as much trouble. And just spending the night in jail is not the worst thing. Waiting in the cold for hours for the police busses, after having been surrounded and squeezed, getting pushed to the ground, stepped on and cuffed by 7 cops, near strangled by another, losing my weed, having my dog collar and bracelets taken away as evidence, spending the night with 60 punks in cells desinged for 16, having your name thrown into the system, and then spending the next 6 years in court. That's the reality of being arrested at a protest in montreal.

Anyway, i'm just being responsible for my own life, and that's not pathetic, but if you've not gone through the adventure yourself, by all means, go for it. But realize that at every protest, 4 douchebags ruin the rally for everyone else by breaking a window or some lame thing, and all the peaceful anti-police-violence peops end up paying the price, and the message becomes lost.

Eitherway, i encourage people to go flex their rights, go stand up for the little people, protest for a necessary cause, and let motrealers know that some police officers abuse their power...of course, an anti-busting-of-raves protest would be great too... .. .

so support those who have the balls to protest, but don't insult those who don't want to live through the ironic journey of being beat on at a COBP rally. Besides, i do my part by playing speeches like this at raves:
