haha...

yeah, Limp Bizkit sucks & blows. Fred Durst = worst rapper of all time.

i was helping out w/ the Combie Christ show on Sunday; the opening band was Black Light Burns, Wes Borlan's band since he left Limp Shitstik. They were just good ol' rock n' roll, with some goth touches. Wes was a nice guy, down to earth, ate poutine with us after...you have no idea the amount of willpower it took me not to say: btw, Wes, your old band sucked ass. your guits were cool, but Durst ruined it for ya'"

And Worm, funny story about the NIN ripoff lyrics: apparently Reznor made fun of Bizkit in an interview, so Bizkit used Reznor's lyrics to make fun of Reznor in return, so Reznor said, fine, and sued them. now every time they sell the album in which Reznor is insulted, he gets paid for it. :)

maybe the new album is decent, and maybe i don't give a fuck :P

you can't take that shit...if someone was in my way making me miss my stop, then, yeah, i'd push back, speak up, yell' "anthrax!", say 'excuse me' real loud, do something...

i'm sure it's the same kind of deal w/ cars though, people cutting you off, giving you the finger, driving slow, tailgating etc...

people are just lame, egotistical, and impolite.

what's worse is people who walk really slow... :P

after years of raving and concert going, i'm able to maneuver around crowds without touching anyone, or bumping into people. But, yeah, some people are douchebags. Like at Berri, everyone tosses you aside to get into the metro, i'm thinkin' "dude, the doors are barely open, you think the metro is gonna take of w/out you? let the people walk out before you walk in, ya' greasy motherfucker!" I love giving aggressive commuters the evil eye. Either get the fuck out of the way, or be efficient with how/where you stand/walk, but don't go shoving into strangers.

...humans are just rude.

what's even worse are the people who make you move your bag and sit down right beside you when there are a dozen open seats. that's annoying.

...ah, humans, they put the sport in public transportation

Hardcore and all related genres (ie: terrorcore, breakcore, speedcore, doomcore, gabber, industrial, dark'n'hard D'n'B, hardtechno, noise, etc...)

that's pretty condescending there mister PlurMinister :P

In Search Of Sunrise? I think i'll be in search of a less cheesy mix...and the way Bliss formulated his sentence, i think he meant that he has heard that tiesto is the best trance dj, not that he actually thinks it himself.

Now, don't get your panties in a knot just 'cause Tiesto isn't praised and honored on this forum...if he's considered #1, he doesn't need our support. And until i see him mix blindfolded, i remain unimpressed ;)

see, you're already better than tiesto Fred :P ...i practice blindfolded sometimes...

w/ Cutter we used to set up the mixer in funky ways to practice under bizarre circumstances (when will i ever need to mix with my feet?) but, hey, you never know, and it has come in handy, like practicing with the channels inversed...

i thought tiesto was popular 'cause he sold out, not 'cause of his skills. he may be talented, but being a talented DJ these days is like being a guitarist in a generic rock band. you might be good, but i'm not impressed.

does he scratch? can he beatmatch D'n'B? can he mix blindfolded?

nathan
Coolness: 167280
yeah, the hardtek/hardtech thing is annoying. But here it is, although it's alredy been kind of explained:

Hardtek has French roots, between 170 and 200 bpm, is less distorted than typical hardcore at that tempo, and tends to have a 'galloping' fell like Tribe...Hardfloor is also a derivative of those styles. I think the distinction is made 'cause hardtek is fast but bouncy and dry, more like sped up techno than hardcore. (though i lump hartek in w/ hardcore, seriously, the difference is subtle, and i think the labeling of it as a different style is more cultural than musical)

Hardtech is more like that British sound, dave the drummer etc., 135 to 145 bpm. Hard techno is a little more general...shranze is a little harder and faster, even borrowing some elements from powernoise imo (but i just discovered shranze recently)

Hardcore, for me, is also very general. it's anything from 1 to 1000 bpm, as long as it's distorted and hard. It then gets broken down into terrorcore, gabber, speedcore, breakcore etc. depending on influence, origin, tempo, and obvious traits (like D'n'B in breakcore, and big epic synths in gabber).

Personally, i hate sub-genres, and it's all hardcore to me :P ...and though hardtech is more techno, it's all in the family...

and yeah, Indica was more acid, and industrial before that...now he'll play whatever (guess he plays electro 'cause that's what peops want to hear), an all around type DJ. From what he told me recently, he has close ties to the Liberator crew and all that hardtech/hard acid scene, and i've hear him do some solid hardtech sets...but if he comes across this thread, i guess he can answer for himself :P

granted, i might be a little wrong on some of this, it still remains a question of opinion in certain cases, and the origins & traits of such quickly growing, and mutating, music tend to blur easily...

:)
