Ps-Im not kirk6 Ufot-things... re read your post and see how insulting it is to me and all the other artists/djs I listed and then youll see exctly why you rub me the wrong way!!!! a promotures job is to find new artists not to wait for them to come to him or her. its your job as someone whos promoting shows to get out there keep your ear to the ground find out whos doing what...approach artists for demos or records, read reviews, go to parties to har new artists play. its not about sitting back and waiting for people to come begging to you... sure a lot of promoters do this and its the reason why most promotires throw the same party time aftet time with the same djs/artists with the same visuals in the same 3 or 4 venues... |

in no particular order, my definaiton of under rated is not much reconigtion locally: fishead sarcastic freebass kilobyte galaxy tobias fervioulous mossa noah pred the list goes on this city has a ton fo great talent but promotures are to busy booking the same djs and live pas over and over again instead of taking chances with new people. fuck i should be part of that list but a. Im a live artists b that would be to egocentric for me any how we can make lists untill the dogs come home the problem is no one gets booked in this city... I can promiss oe thing if my monhtly ever starts up I will try my hardest to not book the same artists over and over again... |

this is the most fucking retarded thread Ive ever read on the board... more retarded then folks who think st henri is full of hoes and crackhouses... ok Ive lived in both cities most of my life born in mtl went to university in the 80s came back to mtl for more school lived here in till the mid 90s then took off for toronto for 10 more years in 95 and now Im back here again.... both cities have there plus's and minus's like any other city in the world... so this stupid name calling is dumd and only helps to widen the gap between the 2 largest cities in canada.... having lived in both citites I can tell you that both have a great after hours scene, a great wearhouse party scene.... both have great food, great people, both have silly downtown rents, both have thier shit paying and good paying jobs... both have thier good and bad show shops and so on... what montreal does not have that toronto does is taco bell big fucking deal get were Im going with this... this thread is petty and dumb! |

what does a link to your prod companies website have to do with venues... so youve thrown parties ok thats cool but you posted it like it was a resource for venues in the city... lets face it its costly to throw parties in this city more so them any other city Ive lived in befor... Im not interested in paying a rental fee to get some space... I want to get a venue where the owner takes the bar and i take the door and its even end of story...fuck all this pay to play bs in this city ... as far as I can see the best deal going in mtl is at the casa or sala spaces the casa is small but free and comes equiped and the sala is larger coems equiped and is about 300 for a sat night... the bad thing is you have to close up by 3am which in many ways is cool be me who really wants to stay up all night at my age any how (Im turning 36 on dec 31st) |

no it wasnt and you just proved my point dont live in the past... why do a second woodstock why try to relive the past why try to redo what was already done unless your going in there with the idea of doing it differently or better or with a new twist... there is no way one can relive a past energy or vibe... |
