Let's get one thing straight now. The promoter was saved nearly $2000, not paying us 2000. He wasn't paying us near that.

Nuclear & Recoil: Our total booking fee isn't up for public discussion, but it should be noted that part of this fee also counts towards paying a share of orbit1's round trip flight from Australia, which wasn't exactly cheap. I also had to drive us up from New York. Consider that this total fee isn't all money going into our pockets, it's money we put upfront to get to the actual event!

Masa: We were never told/promised we would be paid at a later date. If this had been mentioned, it would be a slightly different situation now. Instead, we were lead on a goose chase around the city and strung on by putting good faith in JS that he would come through. Finished off with "sorry guys, just leave Montreal".

I also understand that I don't speak French, and some of you aren't native English speakers so there are bound to be points lost in translation. So please take that into account.

Thank you for the translation. Ok, let's get some things straight. First and foremost, we never, ever requested that the promoter screw the other DJs so we could get paid. That's ridiculous! The amount remaining is a substantial amount, not just 50 bucks or 200 (which was never mentioned we get paid in two weeks). If it was only 50, we wouldn't care. Secondly, we didn't arrive 10 minutes before our set. We actually were in the city at 1030 then had to wait at the hotel for an hour from the promoter to arrive to sort out a hotel he lied about reserving. We then followed him around for the next 2 hours getting that sorted. We made several remarks about payment so he had plenty of notice that it needed to be paid upfront. In addition he lied to us throughout the party that it's coming and he was waiting for the owner. We finally left after our sets with the promoters promise of the remainder of the payment in the morning. I then racked up about 40 dollars in charges on my phone in texts and call charges while driving around the city after him for an hour as he kept telling us he was at different locations. Ultimately I received a text saying "hey, enjoy montreal, go home"

And yes, I would say the party was a success. It was busy all night, people seemed to be having a great time, the venue was sweet and the sound was good. It was made good by the people JS conned into playing for him and coming to his party, not of his own doing. Again, sketchy promoters like this are what kill a scene that would otherwise be incredibly strong and vibrant.

I apologize as I don't speak french - would you, or someone else, be kind enough to translate this for me? I understand about 75% of it but I don't want to misinterpret something.

Firstly I want to say the Montreal ravers were amazing. So much energy and vibe through both Orbit1 and my set. It was an absolute thrill to finally make it there.

Unfortunately, Sickness is a lying, pathetic scumbag who ripped both Orbit1 and I off which has left us actually having to pay money to come play. Jean Sebastian Girard, you're a pathetic excuse for a promoter and people like you are the reason raves and hard dance struggle to gain credibility in North America. DO NOT SUPPORT this jerk off.
