Why'd you change your reply, Gamos? ;)

And as far as PLUR goes, well it's a nice utopia, but personally, I ain't Jebus, and there's only so many times I can turn the other cheek :)

If you need a gun in order to feel safe... It's rifle only here in Canada, but still:

But yeah, I'd actually have to disagree with you on this one, Betty. As liberal as I am (mind you, perhaps not as libertarian), I think the rightful use of force should belong with, and only with, the government. Assuming, of course, that the government is accountable to the people.

Too many things can go horribly wrong when people actually have the means to use force against someone else, such as it is if there's not some form of control over that force (such as laws controlling the use of deadly weapons, who gets to use 'em and why).

We're way past the concept of self-defense here, which is moot anyway if the government is the sole user of force.

...
Yeah, not sure I should post this, I'm bound to get flamed for this one ;)

Actually, that's not 100% true. It's what I thought as well for a really long time.. But sound is not "generated" by an object, it's an interpretation of vibrations by the brain of humans and animals.

So, if a tree falls in a forest, it causes the vibrations that we interpret as sound, yes. But if there are no humans or animals around it to interpret the vibrations, then there is no sound.

Hehe thanks for that explanation Screwhead. That actually kinda makes sense, even though it's somewhat a matter of semantics for the laymen ;)

'sides, it's been two days and it's healing up beautifully. I'm actually more sad that I didn't get to go snowboarding.

So that's a big ruined, yeah.

As for rust, well I gots a brand new tetanus shot, so BRING IT ON :P

Heh, apparently you do need to pick when to get hurt, in our wonderful universal health system.

I mean, who gets seriously hurt on a Friday night, 9pm? ;)

But yeah, I still think most of these problems with the health system would be fixed if there wasn't so much abuse.
