Hi there :-)

I have put the my latest demo online - Its not a long full length set this time, but more a shorter demo set (because it had to fit on a CD and MD to send organizers).

Link: [ www.mixupload.com ]

If your into dark nighttime Psychedelic Trance sounds this might be for you. I put it on [ Mixupload.com ] only this time, because I would like to support their site. (create login and choose "podcast", then it will download).

The music itself is actually very much like the stuff that is very present in the underground here in Aarhus, Denmark where I live. Being played a lot out in the forest or at the beach.

I hope you will have fun with it :-)

My last set was a slow mellow progressive set, this time I have recorded a full on set.

The perfect setting for this set is the early hours preferably outdoors late summer when the sun has just come up, it offers a bit of everything - mellow, psychedelic, funky, groovy, melodic and melancolic tracks ranging from 138 - 144 BPM weaven together in a progressively evolving flow.

You also get a taste of one of the tracks from the upcoming "Shades of Light" compilation out very soon on Virus Tekk Records towards the end of this set.

I would like to say thank you to Elec3 for allowing me use one of their unsigned tracks in this set - Thanks:-)

Overall I am very happy with the mixing, though there is always room for improvements.

Enjoy

Had a listen to this set in the headphones today - Overall the mixing is very good, I didnt notice any double beats or loss of energy. On the contrary, I think it gave something to the music here and there - nice long mixes with new grooves appearing nicely in the mixes.

The flow is also very nice, the tracks fit together well but still evolve. There is also a nice blend of more tech house and progressive house/trance tracks which worked well for me.

Some of the vocals I didnt like - Namely some Electro ones with sorta a computer voice, and there was also some vocals with some female "uh yeah" kinda thing. (Mmm, Uhh ahh something). Other than that, I also heard quite pleasant vocals in the set also - so, its both good and bad there. Vocals are tricky.

Regarding mixing I only noticed 1 thing I didnt like, which was the mix into "Belo Horisonte" where I can hear the pitch bend dragging some of the tones down - Thats also being very nit picky of me :-)

Also, was there seems to be some echo effect or something applied in the track ? My version sounds different somehow :-) Cleaner sounding, less twisted actually.

All in all I had a good time listening to this set, and I will be doing so again in the future. I can recommend this download to anyone who likes slow progressive & tribal tunes with a pinch of electro.

Looking forward to more progressive sets from dear Mr. Clown :-)

Best Wishes

Krell

Dissonance = sounds not in harmony yes - Since there are all those atmospheric sounds they interfere with each other.

I always mix so that I have the same volume thruout the set - its something I aim for specificly, actually, I NEVER EQ anything above 0dB - I move from around - 16/12dB (or 32dB kills) and up to 0dB :-) I like it like that - Steady volume.

The "scene" I come from is the psychedelic trance scene, perhaps that has something to do with it ? :-)

I will keep an eye out for your demos :-)

@|3 |_ @ Z 3 |)

During the first mixes, I mostly use the EQ to sort out dissonanse between the tracks - Entering the mix with mid + low EQs totally down, and sometimes also a complete kill for either frequency (or else it will create tones that just sound wrong, especially in the first mix).

I try to EQ tracks into each other every 32 64 128 and 256 beats, switching between EQing the bassline, and the mid frequencies + sometimes both.... but I havent really touched the highs that much (Ive only EQed the highs in tracks I am leaving in the mix, again to avoid dissonans).

My aim is to make the tracks flow together as seamlessly as I can, not so much to mix it up aggressively. I think it lends itself the most to the music, which has so many smooth and atmospheric sounds. (trying to make those layers fade into each other).

I hope its ok to post this here, if not, please delete it and put a curse on me or something :-)

I have recently recorded this very deep & atmospheric progressive set. It is based on a set played this summer at moesgaard beach(Denmark) during the morning hours after a faster progressive psytrance set, and before a chillout set. (its mainly supposed to be played as the last trancy set during the daytime/warm hours).

Im quite happy with the way it turned out, even though the very last beatmix is off slightly (forgive me).

Featured artists include Sub 6, Fitalic, Dousk, Miniloque, Luke Chable, David West, Atmotech + many more.

17 tracks in all. There wont be a track list for this one, the flow is a surprise, which I find very important in a DJ set. If you are truely interested in the experience itself, you will understand this.

Any comments are welcome.
