It's more complex than that though, it's more like "you choose to make your money in a way that totally avoids having to use our methods of distribution and we're pissed off that nobody is buying these shitty Celine Dion CDs anymore while we engineered this system to convince people it's number 1 when pretty much everyone has panned it, and due to our international stranglehold on music stores, nobody has a choice unless they use your scary anarchist MP3 downloading method, and we can't have any subversives taking away the cash we used to bleed out of our hard-working drug-addicted flavours of the month by starting up new genres and subdivisions that we have nowhere near the business sense or knowledge to understand how to market effectively".

Copy taping is killing music!

It's an OpenDNS page now, I had to give it a few tries before it finally accepted that this website exists. There are a whole bunch of the mirror sites which are screened as well. Holeee shit. Yahoo really doesn't want us using google and paid Rogers a shitload to hijack your browsing habits. WTF.

No man, it's on the DNS. I disabled it but it's on by default, a cookie that gets sent after your computer or something of that sort. Very intrusive. Can't access any [ .ru ] sites or torrent sites, and [ rave.ca ] is screened out too. Noah, time to call these bastards up and ask why.

Holy crap rage.

I type in [ www.rave.ca ] in the address bar and it redirects me to some kind of Rogers search page, instead of google. I had to go to the bottom of the page, get more info about the page, then discontinue "Rogers Supported Search" services. Which are not installed on my computer, this seems to be on the DNS or something. Amazing.

Ok Neko I'll play nice. Just that I don't really care to hear people's pseudo-intellectual ideas on why people do things that other people don't understand.

People don't understand why, that's about the only thing that can be said. You can't be objective about subjective things.

Sorry Mickos for pointing out your horrible character flaws.

I dunno, I would bet it's a lot of breakcore artists with a name like that, figures you wouldn't understand, it doesn't have a name like "Shakti's Yoni" or "Cosmic Anal Moksha" or "Psychedelichai" or some utter spaced-out psy gayness like that.

Oh and yes, I'm sure that you can make a lot of money distro'ing through a label like that. I would imagine every free party crew in Europe would be down for booking people pushing that sort of bitterly cynical joke. Same reason why I throw parties under the name "The Miasma".

Blah blah blah blah blah

Mickos, don't you have a tattoo of a crew that hates you and serious psychological problems? Since when are you an expert on what's wrong with everyone else?

Again, of those who have nothing to say, few remain silent.

Oh and yeah that includes me, I have nothing to say. I don't understand really why people suffer, all I know is we do. I blame a lot of things, but mostly the kind of hyperspeed oversaturated media environments we have to live in every day of our lives, the amount of increasing pressure to have everything now, the addiction everyone has to bio-survival tickets ($$$), instant gratification, and cheap thrills.

Something about throwing stones. And glass buildings.

Ok Mickos... personally I find it sort of pathetic to cut one's self given that most of the time it has to do with fashion. I'm not kidding. I knew kids in high school who thought it was metal to have cuts on your arms. Granted, sometimes it was, like if you'd carved a deep, badass pentagram into your back most people would be like, "well let's hear you shred" and then you'd be like "woah dude can shred". But the whiny camwhore emokids, the angular haircut sneak-into-foufs crowd, fuck em. And their appropriation of emo as something really lame. In fact I don't even defend the original concept of emo-core anymore because well, I don't like listening to Quicksand anymore.

I personally have gone through cutting phases and through bashing-my-head-against-the-wall phases, but this isn't a psychiatrist's office, it's a forum, so why talk about that shit here? Do we need to attract attention to ourselves? Because that's exactly why people do it. They want people to go "oh shit, what happened?" and then go "I did it to myself, I hate myself, please love me, etc". Truly suicidal people go all the way, and well, they die, don't they, otherwise it's just attempted suicide, and that means they need therapy, obvious enough isn't it? Can't say what anybody suffers from or generalize the auto-mutilation desire as being indicative of only one personality disorder or neurosis. Those into hurting themselves are usually blaming themselves for unfortunate circumstances, and feel that they need to punish themselves for not being able to change them. This was always why I wound up doing this shit. The bashing my head thing was always a literal form of how I was feeling symbolically, that I kept hitting my head against the same wall and nothing would change. If life never changes, you sometimes just want to get all the fucking pain out at once, in the hopes that you'll program yourself to stay away from whatever pattern led you there. It doesn't work... but what does? You can stay positive and upbeat and advise the rest of the world and feel like nothing bad will ever happen to you, but it's not realistic. Life is tough, and people suffer. Sometimes the ritual of auto-mutilation is just for an endorphin rush, and sometimes it's a cry for help. Either way, if you aren't dead yet, what doesn't kill you makes you stronger. And if you're doing it for attention well, you got it didn't you.

I personally think it's a lot better to blow stuff up when you're feeling like that, but I can't get my hands on the necessary explosives. That would be such an awesome rave. The last one (finally).

If anyone has that video of the guy hacking his testes open I'd like to juxtapose it with the current topic, just to point out that there are people out there who don't find it horrific at all. Psychologize that one all you want, you'd still never understand why the guy did it.
