yes and yerba mate too :) guru works too, and seems to be the most natural "energy drink", but I find it's still very hard on the stomach/body (too much, actually). |

At about 11:30pm, I heard a report of people throwing glass bottles on the road just below the highway going on Victoria bridge, that is, the service lane on which huge flocks of non-ninja kids were walking right in the middle of the road. I biked there after midnight and there were already half a dozen cop cars with flashing lights, parked across the party's entrance and road... there were indeed a whole lot of people, I guess I came across at least 250-300 people (most of them I never saw in partys). |

I don't think so, because the device enabling qubits is not a particle collider/accelerator but rather a lattice/grid of current (or something like that). However, if the thing really messes with quanta, I imagine that antimatter may be tickled a little too much and out-of-this-world things may happen... but I don't know much about physics, so it's just a naive thought :) |

The idea is that this handles qubits instead of bits, that is, unstable 3-valued data base units that you can "teleport" and stimlate, but neither copy nor observe directly, as opposed to the traditional BInary uniT (2-valued). The whole information theory has thus been redesigned for quantum computing: usual algorithms have to be adapted, some of them work much better on a quantum computer, but some others are just worse. So, this computer is used to compute special algorithms that are much more efficient, or even impossible to execute or define, than on regular computers. So far, the main usage is to plug it as a separate processor to a regular computer, so that the main program runs normally, but calls sub-programs or functions on this quantum computer, hence benefiting from its über-kewl abilities. This computer is now able to help solve problems that were impossible to compute in a reasonable time. This specific first commercial quantum processor performs only one operation: optimization; they seem to say it's best for machine learning (a field of artificial intelligence) and graph theory, rather than cryptography (as some people thought and more or less feared).
