Winter won't be a problem in Montreal :) Heated tents have already been planned, and anyways, the movement is not necessarily depending on the place since we're trying to keep structures on the internet as much as possible, with no leaders and no single person upon whom we depend (this is difficult to set up but it ends up working as an autonomous democratic structure). The only thing is that all of this depends only on people's dedication, initiative, involvement, time, effort, motivation, etc.; in other cities this has died off over a week ago, but in here it is still growing and strengthening. |

It's horrible how they manipulate interviews... I was just besides Noureddine Ayouch during his whole interview, he gave a wonderful articulated speech for almost 5 minutes, and they only kept the three words he stumbled upon. He's a (former?) friend of Marocco's king and a very successful publicist who supports the cause and has been involved in social progress for years. |

There are 2 organic foodstores at marché jean-talon, both doors facing each other across the street: Alfalfa and Aliments Merci. At least one of them should have hemp seed oil. They should also have some at La Dépense (when you walk into the inner Marché Jean-Talon starting from these two stores), Le Frigo Vert (at Concordia, on MacKay between Sherbrooke and de Maisonneuve), Bioterre (St-Viateur / Esplanade), etc. |

Defining common values and goals is precisely the aim of this movement. This is not merely about protesting, this is about building a new world through actual direct democracy. This new world may be the same as currently with only a few modified laws about economics and consumption, or a totally new system; no one can know for now, this is only the beginning of a global discussion, and now is the time to have your say in it by getting involved. There are different ways to get involved: get your ass there and strengthen the occupation, help organizing the camp, help organizing the committees, just participate in committee meetings (education in economics, philosophy & politics, claims, actions, etc.), use the website [ occupymontreal.tk ] and the forum [ automnequebecois.com ] , etc. I set up a committee for screening documentaries, there's now a growing and open team of 10 people managing it: one documentary projected every Saturdays and Sundays at 7pm followed by a discussion with the director. This begun yesterday with the great documentary L'Argent (Money) by Isaac Isitan, with 300 people and still a hundred after almost one hour of discussion in the end. I believe in educating ourselves before claiming and asking for anything specific. This is the People's movement. Don't wait for an order or approval, take initiative, talk to people, share your opinions and learn from the others. Now is the best time. That's the beauty of this movement, unique and first of its kind, gathering all sorts of people, from the right-wing liberal to the brainless hippie. It takes jerks like this cameraman to challenge this movement, but it only makes it stronger in the end. So many talents and hearts put together, I haven't lived it in NYC but here in Montreal it's simply amazing. Of course, a few drunk people add difficulties but the auto-organization is building itself up, more and more, stronger everyday. Together we'll define the values and goals of this movement, think about collective and individual actions, execute them and then change what made us take the streets. We all have our own points of view about all this, and by working together we'll find a common ground, strongly unified for a greater good and yet still respecting each of us as a specific individual. |

Lots of autonomous workers, students, people having quit their job for the cause, etc. Most people keep on working and go there only when they don't work... which is why this weekend may go out of control because there may be 2000 or... 100,000? Who knows... Last Saturday peaked I guess around 3,000 people, maybe almost 10,000 different people visited during the weekend; I bet this next weekend is gonna be more crowded than that. And by the way, equipment for the winter is already being prepared :) |

There's a huge psytrance party going on Square Victoria, I heard it's been there since Saturday and it won't budge until the year 2666. |

Food is only from donations and keeps piling up :) Sorry for being off-topic :P |

Tons of perfectly good food is being thrown away everyday and thousands of people are sorting, cleaning and eating it, all over the world. Considering the crazy over-consumerism and over-production of our societies and the depletion of natural resources, this is a smart and logical response that's been going on for years (even decades?). |
