passage to nowhere
~~~~~~~~~~
i'm walking through an urban jungle
full of crumbled concrete
and billboard dreams
of gridlockled anxiety
and weekend speed
there's the base in the construction crane's swing
and the soft exhale of the sheesha shop's
embers burning
the apple tastes too sweet in my throat
and the eye of your hopes
i already know
smoke rings
round me
mad dashes through the rain
accross the street
neon flickers under the awning
of broken dreams and played out scenes
and the dust on the tables knows no waste
aside from her once pretty face
hanging out of the bed
blood red rush
of the emotionless fuck
nowhere to go now
when there's nothing inside
but the addiction of rituals
that blow their holes through my mind
before i watched this movie i had no thoughts on marilyn manson, hadn't listened to his music, hadn't read any interviews.
say the movie, thought he was extremely intelligent, well spoken, watched the interview over a few times.
i'm not looking to jump on a bandwagon, just sharing an observation i had from watching the film.
i suppose i could say nothing, not give credit where i think credit is due........
but why?
heya clown, i totally agree that the mind can make you do fucked up things. but at the same time, those kids that fall in love with a pop icon at some point grow out of it, it's just a phase they go through.
could you convince your mind to be gay?
i think you could convince yourself to experiment maybe, to try it out as a fad, but to really change, forever.....do you think you could do that?
that's why i don't think gay people can just convince themselves to be straight. i know that they used to try to do that, and all it created was unhappy people who weren't being true to themselves.
i dunno, the people that i know, there's no way they could be any other way, nor would i want them to feel like they aren't good enough the way they are and that they should be trying to change.
but i do see where you're coming from
i just don't agree :)
and neoform, i figured you were, i just wanted to know for sure.
i don't think it's just a mind thing
i've known a lot of gay guys that have always been attracted to men.
i don't think it's an easy thing to do, imagine having to tell all your friends that you were gay (hypothetically)
instant uncertainty....oh no, is he attracted to me? or the reaction at the top of this thread "i think i'm gonna vomit"
suddenly people are looking at you differently, judging you differently, all on the basis of the gender that you're attracted to.
does this happen to straight people? nope
i think that if it was a mind thing, some gay people would not be, cuz it's easier, society wise, to be straight
and why is it that guys fantasize about two girls getting it on and the thought of two guys grosses them out?
i dunno
i think a big part of addiction is the altering of your normal state of being
so trying to cure an addiction with something that basically is just the same thing won't do much.
maybe it'll help alleviate the withdrawl symtoms and then allow the person to quit after that.......
bah
whatever
