i was the biggest anti-smoker, up til i was 18.

i finally actually WANT to quit though, after being totally addicted to this crutch for the past 8 years, i need to stop.
i'm just terrified of how insanely angry i get

this time i'm gonna do it

any tips on how to deal with the rage that comes with quitting?
every other time i've tried to quit that's what got me started again, all i wanted to do was kill people.

what life experience is there to be found in repeatedly abusing a substance that is ultimately going to leave you as a shell of the human you might have been, with an smidge of the intelligence that you started off with.

maturity comes with life experiences that you LEARN from

not from things that you do, just because it's "your choice" that you learn nothing from except how fucked up you can get in a weekend......week.......lifestyle.

i know the drill, free choice, drugs give you a different perspective, yadda yadda yadda

fine.
i have no problem with experimentation, informed decisions

BUT

drugs are not intelligence, growth or maturity
they are above all, especially in people that have not grown up enough yet, an escape.

so if you decide that you're being smart and mature because it's your free will to do drugs then i have a suggestion for you.
in the next few years you will have to decide what you want to do for a job, find a place to live, survive on your own.
if you waste the opportunities that you have now you will wake up one day in your mid twenties and realize

"aw fuck, why did i do all those drugs and not learn more about LIFE when i had the chance?"

if you feel insulted by this tirade look past that and really think about what you're doing to yourself. what choice are you really making.

this isn't directed at anyone in particular
this is my general "what the fuck are teenagers doing *insert hard drug here* tirade.

yeah, that's it
i'm outta here for good

the newspaper article that my boss left in my file holder, passive agressive bullshit.

she has no right to be holding that axe of my past over my head as a reason to judge me.

two more years max, and them i'm opening my own place. fawkin internal bullshit backstabbing, i'd make more money out on my own.

the bliss, of this
is running through my fingertips
tendrils of the winds caress
all things shaped of nothingness

let all of time condence
to form a gravity of purpose
and the scales of life balance out

equating my worth

lessons

in outrunning the reaper
on the fields of the dying

spin me a web of all that i've lost
to catch all that is left of me

as i slip into memory

if that's your dream, good for you, seriously.
i can understand why people want it
it's not for me though
cuz i'm a heartless, have no desire to make joint decisions, don't want to take care of anyone else ever again, have seen nothing but terribly unhappy marriages and grandparents lonely and dying in old folks homes.

and i would be the worst parent
so that's why i don't want those things

i take back the cats though, i'm going to be old, crazy, have lots of cats, and people will cross the street to avoid walking in front of my property.........i'll cackle and not have to dress up for halloween

that's my dream

but i also don't care how ridiculous i look in snowpants, sweater, jacket, tuque and a scarf wrapped around my head up to my eyeballs.
it's way easier to deal with the cold than with the crazy heat in the summer

well i almost made it inside for midnight

had lots of fun dancing downstairs until the flood
had a great conversation with a stranger in the looooong line up for the bathroom
tried to get into the '80s music that was playing, normally i love all things cheesy but it just wasn't happening for me. could just be because i felt like i had been drugged and was dying
was about to leave when mayday came on, discovered music was the cure for death, hung on a bit longer, was sorry that i had to leave when i did....i hate not feeling well when i'm having fun.
so i thought it was a great party, even with the closing of the downstairs room.

happy new years :)

and then it falls out, onto the floor and i can't see it to rescue it.

and then i'm left with a mismatched number or right to left eyeballs in the box.

yup
intense isin't it
