bearing in mind that you have you values and i have mine and someone else has theirs and so on and so forth, this entire debate is moot.

but my opinion is as such. you do heroine or crack even once and i drag you to rehab. kicking and fucking screaming. i dont give a shit who you are or what ties i have or have not anymore with you. maybe we didnt have this discussion but i know i had it with a couple of people who i was once concerned about. THAT, my friend, is not empathy but something much more. i have no empathy for addicts, i dont think i can - ive never been there. having empathy suggests a person understands and that understanding is gleaned from experience. so you're right on that count, i aint got none. lastly, for the record, i havent stopped doing anything, everything in moderation. binge and purge. but not everyday. if i had to smoke a joint everyday or do a line am or pm to unwind or whatever, i would think id have a problem. but thats just me. i can only speak for myself.

i hardly think so.

no one on this board needs to do drugs as far as i know. no one needs to do heroine or crack cocaine. you do it because you have a dependancy, an addiction or simply because you like it. or maybe you're an escapist. maybe you're dissatisfied with your life. do you have glaucoma? are you a victim of some rare strain of cancer ravaging your body? do you have parkinsons, leukemia, alzheimers, tremors or otherwise? do you have aids? are you dying? why do you NEED drugs and how are drugs relevant to your life?

if you do, then i feel for you. but if you dont, you're just perpetuating a stereotype and i hardly think you're in a position to call anyone ignorant or make a vain attempt at factoring in respect or the lack thereof. that's just fucking dumb.

and this isnt a total and direct attack at jeff either. i just think that the arguments presented towards pro-drug usage are a little ridiculous.

and no, regular and frequent drug users usually dont have my respect. the recreational sort, well thats just recreation. when you wake up in the morning and NEED a line to get you going with your coffee, then you're fucked.
