you don't have to make a super program, just create a program that will rename your music folder files or something (test with bogus files first). or perhaps create a website (you can host on your own computer using an AMP package (I love XAMPP)) that will manage your tasks (such task have to be done by then, when it's done check it [ www.w3schools.com ] ).

my advice is unless you really know where you're going, build on small steps and test often.

learning the basics shouldn't be so difficult, just pick up a tutorial for PHP or C++ (or plain C) ; there should be plenty on torrent sites (section books). doing it for a living is another story.

Yesterday's ruined: that buffet in the chinese district (on la gauchetière between saint-urbain & clark) has a take-out part, it's pretty good during the day but I went there around supper time. it didn't occur to me there was a problem when I asked about an item and was told it was only made during the day so I just picked another. I walked 10 minutes before sitting down then opened the box, the noodles had half the flavor it usually have (during the day) and more than a few were dry, it seem it had been in the warmer for quite some time.

comment je fais pour trouver le gain du ratio que je veux? j'ai donné 3 exemples de ration et les limites en gain de mon logiciel. tu peux me donner des équivalents ou l'équation pour le trouver?

je connais rien dans le son alors si tu pense à un truc évident pour tes pairs, moi je le connais pas. :|

je me suis dis que s'il y a des gain spécifiques c'est qu'il s'imaginent un équivalent pour un ordi, genre +10 sur la base de 80, ça équivaut à 112,5%.

ah merde j'ai encore oublié quelque chose (et c'est pas près d'être la dernière fois)! c'était dans mon dernier paragraphe : le logiciel va de -200dB à 60dB de "gain".

alors comment je trouve l'équivalent d'un ratio (150% or 2/3 or 3X) en "gain" (+/- dB) ? je pense bien qu'il doit y avoir un dB de base pour un ordi au maximum (sans ampli logiciel), ex: un ordi à fond devrait produire 70 dB selon les développeurs de logiciels audio.

so I ripped some video from a game but it's half the volume of the vast majority of other files ; I know that by using VLC, if I max the playback at 200% it's about the same volume as other files. I'm using an encoding software and luckily it can also modify the volume BUT it uses gain. I'd think DJs, sound-men would use audio software and likely know about this than me.

what do I gain the volume on? do I have to assume that if the software and main volumes are at maximum the output should be a certain Decibel (dB)? using my setup is likely not a reference because I was listening to some Marduk just an hour ago and wanted to put it at the maximum that wouldn't disturb the neighbor but at maximum those laptop speakers were the equivalent of a carefree conversation (you're in a park and no-one's around) ...

so my goal is to understand the relation between percentage/proportion/ratio and gain. so later if I want 150% or 2/3 or 3X, I can figure it on my own.

Host.Wun I'd think even the worst neigh-bough need at least 1 warning from the landlord or the police then do one of the things warned not to repeat before getting kicked out. it's not the first time that I hear as mentioned in this thread that some place is filled with loud people that all like it that way.

I like my place VERY quiet and so far it's been that way but this place I'm at I can hear people laughing (at a movie) through the diving wall, not ROFL but LOL, I can also hear cars speeding. it will take a while getting used to it ; my Shure ear-buds + ambient music sure help for concentration (although I prefer silence).

the worst neighbors (beside thieves and thugs) knock on dividing wall/floor/ceiling when they're aggravated even after you offered you phone number so s/he'd call instead (and even after the police told what we did was acceptable). I had one like that but it pisses me too much. >:(
