I was in a developing nation, likely in Africa, where there was street people, mostly kids ; not unheard of in that part of the world. But most of them had a limb or 2 missing, one even had no pelvis (thus no legs) but had 2 bones sticking out toward the front just under his/her torso, really morbid.

I wondered what was happening and it turn out there was mines around, I don't know why but it was made out of rusted pots with gel inside but it needed a razor blade for it to be effective. Well I found out in the dream I was out on the street as well so there was some side-quest where I wanted to loan money until I got back here and of course that failed.

Around some kind of market or corner store I heard people making hushed scared noises but just around the wall was the scene, 2 people not moving and I was not the third when I asked where the mine was one pointed and I looked at a minute bump on the dirt ground. I just couldn't help myself after a couple minutes, I pulled back knowing full well that was likely a fatal mistake, it was too hard to resist, the fear was just too much. Some kind of social worker (female) came and "diffused" the mine by just pulling the razor blade that was actually between the shop glass and an object in front (not in the ground).

I found out there was an organization planting those mines around and, my theory was it was trying to get rid of the public nuisance that were street people because there was nice districts (that would be middle-income by our standards) in the town. It was actually a women that was planting those mines and we got to know where she lived.

I can't put it all together yet but there was other brushes with those mines.

Something outstanding with this dream is that I actually woke up and was trying to remember as much as I could, my mind fully alerted like cramming for an exam, more than a couple times during my sleep ; I didn't go to the bathroom or anything, just woke up for a moment then fell back asleep. I think objectively my dream was split in different parts, but its continuous in my memory.

Cocaine Laced With Veterinary Drug Levamisole Eats Away at Flesh
By KATIE MOISSE
June 23, 2011

The veterinary drug can rot the flesh of the nose and ears (Courtesy of Logical Images)

Cocaine cut with the veterinary drug levamisole could be the culprit in a flurry of flesh-eating disease in New York and Los Angeles.

The drug, used to deworm cattle, pigs and sheep, can rot the skin off noses, ears and cheeks. And over 80 percent of the country's coke supply contains it.

"It's probably quite a big problem, and we just don't know yet how big a problem it really is," said Dr. Noah Craft, a dermatologist with Los Angeles Biomedical Research Institute.

In a case study in the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology, Craft describes six cocaine users recently plagued by the dark purple patches of dying flesh. And while they happened to hail from the country's coastlines, the problem is national.

"It's important for people to know it's not just in New York and L.A. It's in the cocaine supply of the entire U.S.," Craft said.

Craft is one of several doctors across the country who have linked the rotting skin to tainted coke. The gruesome wounds surface days after a hit because of an immune reaction that attacks the blood vessels supplying the skin. Without blood, the skin starves and suffocates.

Eighty-two percent of seized cocaine contains levamisole, according to an April 2011 report by the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration. Why dealers would stretch their stash with levamisole instead of the more traditional fillers, like baking soda, is unclear, although studies in rats suggest the drug acts on the same brain receptors as cocaine. So it might be added to enhance or extend the cocaine's euphoric effects on the cheap.

Despite the widespread contamination, not all of the country's cocaine users experience the flesh-rotting reaction. It appears that some are more vulnerable to the tainted cocaine's effects.

"We don't know who this is going to happen to," said Dr. Lindy Fox, the University of California, San Francisco, dermatologist who first connected the gruesome lesions on cocaine users to levamisole. Similarly, some patients have more extreme reactions than others. Fox said she once saw a photo of a man whose entire body, face included, was black with dying flesh.

Once the drug is cleared from the body, the wounds do heal, leaving behind a shiny scar.

Although some people might be more vulnerable to the effects of levamisole, the drug doesn't discriminate based on race or socioeconomic status.

"Rich or poor, black or white," anyone who uses cocaine is at risk, Craft said.

As if rotting skin wasn't enough, levamisole also prevents the bone marrow from producing infection-fighting white blood cells.

"It's a little bit like having HIV," said Craft, adding that without medical attention, the condition can be fatal. "About 10 percent of those patients will die from severe infections. They may be walking around like a time bomb."

isn't there any shred of logic in you? it's better to deal with this in a forum where people don't have to log in or can just skip a thread than have this dealt at the expense of party-goers. having a technical issue stopping music is already not so great, hearing 2 DJs argue on top of that would be just plain lame. be happy this didn't happen at the party, well unless it was behind the scenes.

Screwhead (that stalking was me not copying you nick properly), I'm quite satisfied with the ones I have ATM, I'm just saving up for something 1-2 fold better and I was hoping one of you soundman & good DJs could give me a tip.

I did read up on some audiophile boards but the thing is they really don't bother about the less specialized readers so I'd have to catch up (do a research) on every single one of their post and I doubt doing so would even have me understand half of what they're saying. At least reading those boards, it gave me an idea on which brands to put my money ; I just really don't know how much they're worth, yes a technician than spend hours and hours focusing on sound details will surely have their money's worth even if the difference is quite slim, I'm wondering about the Price-Quality Ratio for an amateur user.

Maybe they have cleanser and pads that you can clean them ; anyway they only get really icky when you waer them for some time building up heat & humidity. Otherwise, if I can spend a good amount of time trying them and my current plugs won't fit into the models (even the foam one that should stretch), it would be worth it to spend a bit of money to buy a plug that fit.

I'm sorry but I just don't understand this. I wish I whould though. This was meant only for earbuds? Because making noise outside of my ears is not really an option.

I do understand, hence saving up ; I don't have the luxury of really making noise, well I can but it will get back to me when I need quietude, something I'd much rather avoid.

Well after a previous thought, I've been thinking that I should start saving to get myself a better ear-bud but I'm wondering just how much it would actually cost for that quality ; is it multiplicative or exponential? You know of a place that I could try them out to hear for myself?

I don't like loud music so much so increasing the volume to get more bass and other stuff that make music sound good isn't really something I'd consider.
