oh ya, added to the bill, our final and perhaps most illustrious headliner, is the deadly, intense, and completely-insane-in-the-head Toronto-based hard tek producer, PATRICK DSP [ www.patrickdsp.com ] Prolific techno producer and remixer, DSP has dropped tracks for the likes of UK labels Cluster and Minimum/Maximum and Germany's Lifeform, Working Vinyl and Geheim recently. Upcoming releases include tracks for the UK's Cluster, Holland's Mechanized Records, Germany's Combat Skills, Carnage and Artillery Records, and Canada's own Hardsignal and Adverse Recordings. His styles include flavours of industrial, hard acid and funky techno, occasionally employing and reworking recognizable samples into humorous new contexts, evidenced in his remixes of Ministry's Every Day is Halloween (white label) and So What (geheim). While his DJ skills are completely off the hook, for School Patrick DSP will bring a LIVE PA, showcasing his production skills for the people in what he has warned will be a brutal hard techno set. |

exactly. Worker & Parasite is the nomenclature used when the two perform together, on four turntables and two mixers, in a simultaneous session dedicated to the hardest forms of techno out there. bong. |

Phryll productions. is that the party anyone is thinking of? anyways i never heard a live PA by Beyer. never heard of him doing one actually. Lekebusch neither. here's my answers... Short Techno Survey 1. What's the first image that comes to mind when you think of Techno? -train tracks 2. What colours do you associate most with this music? -grey 3. Who doyou think is Techno's main crowd? -males between the ages of 18-24 4. Is Techno associated with an era, a country, a culture? If yes, which? -an era: the advent of computers and the information highway. any country and culture in which this factor arises. ps. this is a fucking stupid question. way to vague for a survey. anyways, moving on. 5. Does it contain a message or communicate in any way? -no. the medium is the message. ps. as you're questions get vaguer and vaguer, so do my answers. 6. Is it limited to a certain age group. etnic group or gender? -yes, only white males between the ages of 18-24. anyone else who claims to like techno is a fucking liar. anita, neil, sorry guys, you don't fit in here. woops. me neither. |

one problem with hip hop in montreal is that the scene is so offline it's not even funny. even [ montrealunderground.com ] seems to be not working anymore... other than that there is a healthy scene in the afterhours, and at a few clubs (blue dog saturdays for good underground shit, back to basics).. good record stores r Tabour on ste-catherine, Zulu Records on Bleury... guys like Sixtoo and Blurum imo are the top artists comin up from mtl right now... |

really? there actually weren't that many people? me personally i got drunk and fell asleep. woke up at eight oclock in the morning. frankly, from what i heard, glad i missed it... though my main fear at the time was dealing with all these FUCKS in line and at the door and overcrowding etc, etc.. but now it looks like that would not have been a factor after all... hmmm... comment, anita, on mills' set? i've heard only bad things so far.. seeing as i've heard mills when he's on point (which is great) AND off point (which is fucking horrible) i'd feel fine knowing i missed a mills off-point night. |
