Though i feared that 3 hours of booty would start to bore people before i started playin, i couldn't have been more wrong, this just goes to show that booty & ghettotech can form the basis for not only a club night, but an entire afterhours room... i started playing housier shit (billie jean bassline style, me=gay), which was mad fun, but had to bring back the bootyjams due to popular demand heheh!!! thanks to all that came out, danced and supported, respect to the martyrs of the underground, the promoters, give ian and co. all the support we can guys, and let's hope it all works out in the longrun. |

Black Market as usual played a completely twisted drill'n'insanity, bordering on unlistenable (in a good way, i guess heheh), hour of cerebral mayhem.. Seb from Banditos stole the show for me, 1 1/2 hours of ableton live, live techno and some breakcore all around 150 BPM, super clean, old school, aciddy, funky, and really got the dancefloor going. 1Speed Bike impressed me like mad with his DJ skills, seamlessly mixing a ton of retarded CDs from hardtekno to breakcore and DnB, all over the place, fun vibe, and Maskinn came on and ripped it at the end. Corey has booked all the guest DJs, its as much his night as mine (actually, more his night...) there is absolutely NO pretense of even thinking about playing anything like DnB, or electro, or techno, or anything of the sort at Some Old Bullshit, fyi. I barely even play vinyl. It's basically a chance to play and hear tunes that I wouldn't ever put in a DJ set, that wouldnt ever see the light of day in a club or on a dancefloor. For example: I got to play Megadeth, "Wake Up Dead", at Blue Dog. Could anything be cooler? I submit that it cannot. |

(tardcore ranked a close 2nd, clocking in at about 9 hours hahah) ya we had MAD celebrities up in this bitch, mike babins and stoner jay walker from cjad/chom in the house, anne-marie and of course, Corey fucking K!! hahahah as far as the techno / rock shit, it was a source of constant stress all night, suprisingly. i can't say either way what prevailed, all i know is a lot of people wanted to hear house and dance, and a lot of people wanted to hear rock and metal all night, no matter what i played somebody complained. on the other hand, somebody was also happy, no matter what. all in all though i was happy about the quasi-rave vibe in there.. unfortunately two of our speakers conked out at some point, and everyone was 2 screwed to even think about trying to figure out why. turns out they got unplugged heheheh. fuck.. thanks again everyone that came, all that helped |
