tuesday at blizzarts is flexout w/ ramdac and crispian, has been for at least a year.. IDM/left field music (a great night in fact)

bliss used to play thursdays at the Grill, for 4 years, with T'cha Dunlevy, and then later by himself.

now Bliss plays every Saturday yes, at voyeur.

by the way, Bliss is the fucking master and if I could bear children, I would want them to be his. FancyLung, your stupid sms account keeps sending me goddamned invites or something. what is UP with that SHIT???? your last name is like a hundred and forty syllables. wtf/??

ya, those are classic signs of paranoid schizophrenia, schizophrenia.. Psychotic episodes or schizoid episodes are the first indicators of shizophrenia. Most likely, everyone on this board knows somebody that will be schizophrenic one day, or already is. I wish I had some advice on how to deal with it or what to do , but I don't. Except for this: stay away from all and every drug and you have less chance of becoming schizophrenic, or of worsening psychosis. However, this is no protection against schizophrenia, it can strike anywhere, anytime. Although something like 75% of cases occur in males between the ages of 17-25.. or something..

so ya, if someone close to you starts saying they're gonna jump off a building to prove that they can't die, or starts saying that they're gonna go into work one day with a submachine gun and mow people down so that they can expose the corporation for the evil liars they are, be careful. Talk to the person, try to get out if they are being honest, or joking. If they appear to be honest, and really appear to BELIVE what they are saying, then they are suffering from a psychotic episode, and you should remove them from stress, get them to see a psychiatrist, and most definitely avoid allowing them to do any drugs, including weed, or alcohol.

beyond that, ya, i don't know what else to say. Be careful with yourselves, be careful with drugs, be careful with what you think, believe, and convince yourself. does that make any sense?? i think not..

first of all i think its a great idea Noah.. if you act as a label and sell artists' mp3's, then it's assumed that you would take a cut... you make a basic % that the artist receives, and that's it.. in addition, depending on the way you wanna write it up, you may own the rights to reproduce the music thereafter and you could make CDs, vinyls, etc.. with the artist always receiving the same %. or something.

secondly, ya, most DJs prefer vinyl, and mp3 is really not there YET as a DJ Friendly medium. i think one day it will be. but I also think there's a lot of people out there that would listen to way more electronic music if it was accessible to them, but all they can hear are badly recorded DJ mixes or mainstream offerings that actually make it onto CD. random electronic music listeners don't have decks, wouldn't know what to do with a vinyl, but represent 99% of your potential market for selling music.

hey simon that's fucking hilarious!!

lately i'm listening to ultimate brutal death/grind. beyond hyper death/grind, these bands have taken it to the point where talent is not even an issue.. nor is technicality, lyrics, none of this shit matters, just PURE brutality..Liturgy, or Last Days of Humanity. or Mortician.. or Severe Torture..

also, Secret Chiefs 3. these guys are fucking twisted.. i'm sure a lot of DnB heads would love them

Secret Chiefs 3 is an instrumental offshoot of Mr Bungle led by Trey Spruance. First Grand Constitution and Bylaws (Web Of Mimicry, 1998), Second Grand Constitution and Bylaws (Web Of Mimicry, 1999), Eyes of Flash Eyes of Flame (Web Of Mimicry, 2000), and Book M (Web Of Mimicry, 2001) mix Middle Eastern and Indian music, Ennio Morricone's soundtracks and dance beats. Book of Horizons (Web of Mimicry, 2004) evokes suspense-filled James Bond movies (The End Times), Ennio Morricone's melancholy themes (The Exile, absolutely worthy of the master's repertory, and Book T Exodus), swirling Middle-eastern dances (The 4, The 3), apocalyptic grindcore (Exterminating Angel, Hypostasis Of The Archons), Frank Zappa-esque orchestral music (The Owl In Daylight, DJ Revisionist), and even circus music (Welcome To The Theatron Animatronique).

and there WAS a balcony. it sucked casue you couldnt hear the surround sound at all, but it was there.. area 514 style..heheheh.

are some classic wu-sample kungfu movies that i've seen. because they've all been translated they often are called different things, or appear under different titles.. very hard to keep track... there's dozens, maybe hundreds of kungfu movies made in the 70s-80s, by lots of different directors (shaw brothers made a shitload of 'em) based on the Shaolin monks as the originators/masters of kung fu...

czarkastik
Coolness: 149680
ya seriously people, have some respect... it's easy to say that you're tired of a venue, but the real reason rave promoters switch venues is not to make a fresh, new place for partiers, it's because it's so hard to find a secure venue for a reasonable price.. you can only use a venue so many times before you start hitting problems (fire marshall, complaints in the area, etc.).

maybe other people are not in my shoes, but for a very long time I went to Sona every Friday (and also to lots of underground parties).. but there was something special about seeing the same core of people every Friday coming out to represent hard techno in MOntreal (and this could apply to any style, techno is not important)... there was NO deco at Sona, nothing special going on, just residents and usually one out-of-town guest... they didn't need to make it "special" or make the night unique; it was simply the best place to go, best sound, best people, and we went every Friday.

in comparison, Gravity has better sound, WAY nicer staff, lots of cool places to chill, reasonable entry prices usually, and tons of different styles of music coming through. Why can't it just be the regular place for underground afterhours parties? I think it's a great thing to imagine - there will still be plenty of other parties, raves, underground things, but to have a secure, after hours club to serve as the center and hub for all these people and parties is a great thing that our city needs...

i dont know if you left before his 2nd encore, but he actually closed with a DnB remix of Slayer's Reign in Blood.... Tobin was playing, in addition to some fairly standard DnB, numerous tracks of his older albums, as well as a couple of the new Chaos Theory, and lotsa weird shit i didn't recognize; heard some fucked rock samples in there: Soundgarden i think? Hendrix definitely.. and many more...

the lasers and smoke really made for a mash-out kinda show, best suited to eating mushrooms and zoning the fuck out.. for people expecting to dance or shmooze then ya, it was a little too much. Personally, from the moment i walked in, it reminded me of oldschoolness.. the simplicity of green lasers, massive strobes, and tons of smoke, really got me/ venue reminded me of Area 51 (anyone remember THAT shithole??>) or of a realyl crappy, rundown, and smaller version of Rialto...
