i think carlos is dissing puerto rican jails. i don't think he has ANY idea of what's going on... ecube is the traditional site for level 4 productions' springtime event, and affords us all the amenities we require to have a good time. i love the peeps that run it and by doing events there we can afford to keep the cost down for attendees, which is part of what we're trying to accomplish here.

meh. altjhough cephalic killed it, this show sucked in virtually every possible way. dead to fall sucked ass, the sound was horrible, the venue is SO shit, fucking el salon, never turned the house lights down during the whole night, all the band's equipment was lined up alongside one wall, right next to the dancefloor.

regardless, cephalic gave it their all for about 40-50 people, for about 30-40 minutes.. unfortunately it seemed they cut their set short, probably due to lack of interest on the part of montrealers. still, it was my first time hearing them and they were great, hugely entertaining. brutal vocals

also the band beneath the massacre were fucking brutal, really solid band, i'd like to see them again (and pay more attention next time)..

for the books: SWIRL2004 i believe was cancelled, or never happened, and SWIRL2001 was definitely cancelled. The first Swirl was in 1995 i think... so this would've been the 10th but i guess it's the 8th... since there is no more sona, aria & gillette are now happy to be involved, allowing the event and name to survive (capitalizing on the popularity of it outside of Montreal), and by extension allowing 514 productions, which is now only one person, to continue to exist as an entity...

it has nothing to do with the music, wether its techno, trance or jungle, or hip hop, what i hate more than anything is people that are close-minded.

that's about the weakest thing i've ever fucking written, it's so blatantly obvious, and even people that oNLY like dnb will tell you that they are trying to be open minded, everyone is TRYING to be open minded.. i dont fucking know.. but i also hate that about every genre.

psytek people are SO fucking loyal to their djs and promoters, it's good on the one hand, but on the other hand there is so much good music, minimal, techno, that sounds really similar to psytek, that they are missing out on. the same goes for pretty much every genre i must say, and it would be great to see people group together under different banners or somerhing.

me, it's all about BPM now.. there is no such thing as style, only BPM. if you're a 170 BPM, then ya, you might be okay, but you won't work next to a 140 BPM track... and vice versa.. judge not lest ye be judge yourselves... also, your opinions r all wrong
