ya, you guys really liked that spot?

personally i find it's a stretch to get people to come down there.. but the response seems to be very much on the positive tip.. hmmm
maybe it's worth looking into as it's very hard to find clubs willing to do one-off events on the weekends (and none of us ravers wants to do weekly weekend nights cause wooot! what happens when there's an ill rave.. )

thanks y'all for the support

well, considering that I consider Pink Floyd's Echoes to be the first REAL breaks track, then YA, i'll be playing the MAD ILL breaks.

obviously Dialect will play breaks
Jasmine's shit is always breaky
Nter prolly playing breaks? comment Mike?

if you consider the Beatles played backwards while the record is lit on fire and DROP ACID DROP ACID EVERYBODY DROP ACID to be breaks, then ya, the Walrus'll drop some breaks also

anyways georgie this night will be all about opening your fucking mind and letting the sounds of nature oooooze into your unborn lizard brain, so if you go into it with an expectations at all, it may have an adverse effect on your perceptory process

IN OR OUT
MAKE IT OR BREAK IT
ALL OR NOTHING

actually it's a tribute to Coldcut's classic JOURNEYS BY DJ mix (Open up a dictionary, look up "mix album" next to it it will say COLDCUT-JOURNYS BY DJS. Well maybe not but trust me this is how it's done kids, this is the one. Ive heard a lot of mix albums in my time, this is by far the greatest. Right at the top your thrown in at the deep end. Pounding drum and bass and ruff break beats kick your arse before mellowing out seemlessly for a few tracks lulling you into a false sense of security for the second onslaght including a selection of old school coldcut magic, in some places four decks are on the go at the same time. Once again it chills out, a rest before the final push. Now we're in a whole world of dirty sweaty funk before leaving you, via the Dr who theme music blissed out and grinning ear to ear in a heap on the floor. In conclusion: All bases are covered, Drum and bass, breaks, funk, ambient, hip hop, jazz, dub all mixed using proper old school cut and paste style turntable trickery. If you don't own this you don't like music! )

released in 1995, this is the unbelievable tracklisting of that mix:
1 Philorene Bola
2 Truper, The Street Beats Vol 2
3 Junior Reid One Blood
4 Newcleus Jam On Revenge (The Wikki Wikki Song)
5 2 Player Extreme Possibilities (Wagon Christ Remix)
Remix - Wagon Christ
6 Funki Porcini King Ashabanapal (Dillinja Mix)
Remix - Dillinja
7 Jedi Knights Noddy Holder
8 Plastikman Fuk
9 Coldcut Mo Beats
10 Bedouin Ascent Manganese In Deep Violet
11 Bob Holroyd African Drug
12 Air Liquide Stratus Static
13 Coldcut Beats And Pieces
14 Coldcut That Greedy Beat
15 Coldcut The Music Maker
16 Coldcut Find A Way (Acapella)
Vocals - Queen Latifah
17 Mantronix King Of The Beats
18 Gescom Mag
19 Masters At Work Blood Vibes (Kenny Dope Mix)
Remix - Kenny Dope
20 Raphael Corderdos Trumpet Riff
21 Luke Slater's 7th Plain Grace
22 Joanna Law First Time Ever I Saw Your Face
23 Harold Budd Balthus Bemused By Colour
24 Photek Into The 90s
25 Boogie Down Productions Bridge Is Over
26 DJ Food Dark Blood (MLO Nu Blud Mix)
Remix - MLO
27 Jhelisa Friendly Pressure (Acapella)

Remix - Bandulu
29 Jello Biafra Message From Our Sponsor
30 Pressure Drop Unify
31 Love Lee Again Son
32 Red Snapper Hot Flush (Sabres Of Paradise Remix)
Remix - Sabres Of Paradise, The
33 Ron Grainer Theme From Dr Who
34 Moody Boys, The Free
Co-producer - Jimmy Cauty
35 DJ Food The Dusk

and really it's the only mix ever released that comes close to encapsulating the diverse sounds you might hear on this night. Personally, I'm HELLAlookingforwardtoit

i think adam yauch, adam horowitz and michael diamond said it best when they laid this fucker down:

Only 24 hours in a day
Only 12 notes a man can play
Music for all and not just one people
And now we're gonna bust with the Putney Swope sequel
More Adidas sneakers that a plumber got pliers
Got more suites that Jacoby & Meyers
If not for my vices my bugged out desires
My year would be good just like Goodyear's tires
So I'm out pickin' pockets at the Atlantic Antic
And nobody wants to hear you cause your rhymes are so frantic
I mix business with pleasure way too much
I mean wine and women and song and such
I don't get blue I gotta mean red streak
You don't pay the band your friends and that's weak
Get even like Steven like pulling a Rambo
Shadrach Mesach Abednago
Steal from the rich and I'm out robbing banks
Give to the poor and I always give thanks
Got more stories that J.D. Salinger
I hold the title and you are the challenger
I've got money like Charles Dickens
Got the girlies in the Couple like the Colonel's got the chickens
Always go out dapper like Harry S. Truman
I'm madder than Mad's Alfred E. Newman

and I'm

NEVER GONNA LET THEM SAY THAT I DON'T LOVE YOUUUUU!!!!Never gonna let them say that I don't love you

From the psylocybin trip scale index:

LEVEL 4 (IV) stands for VISIONARY state. Complex three dimensional realistic appearing scenes occur. Sometimes voices may be heard. With eyes open, contact with consensual reality will not be entirely lost, but when you close your eyes you may forget about consensus reality, and enter completely into a dream like state. Shamanistic journeying to other lands, foreign or imaginary encounters with dream like beings, entities, spirits, or travel to other ages may occur. You may even live the life of another person. At this level you have entered the shamans' world, or if you prefer you are in dream time. With eyes closed you may experience fantasies with a story line to them. So long as your eyes are closed, you may believe they are really occurring. This differs from the eye candy of closed imagery of level 3.

Gonna leave the city put my troubles behind
People in the city goin' out of their minds
Goin' to the country just to feel like gold
People in the country really let themselves go

Hey, ho, one thing I know
People in the country got one thing for sure
Hey, ho, one thing I know
Every mother's child really lets himself go

Goin' to the country and leavin' right away
No time to talk I got to make a getaway
Gonna leave the city it's a crime and a shame
People in the city are goin' insane

Hey, ho, one thing I know
Every mother's child really lets himself go
Hey, ho, one thing I know
People in the country really let themselves go

Joining hands
Making plans
Come on down
Look around

When it's cold outside and you want to sleep in
go for a pallet that's so nice and thin.
Zip it on around while it's on the ground,
spread it out and lay it on down.
Slip inside my sleeping bag,
slip inside my sleeping bag.

You're afraid of the dark, baby, no need to be shy.
We'll talk about some lovin' while we look at the sky.
Don't be hesitating, it'll be alright,
we'll tuck it in until it's clean out of sight.
Slip inside my sleeping bag,
slip inside my sleeping bag.

Let's go out to Egypt 'cause it's in the plan,
sleep beside the pharoahs in the shifting sand.
We'll look at some pyramids and check out some heads.
Oh, we'll whip out our mattress 'cause there ain't no beds.
Slip inside my sleeping bag,
slip inside my sleeping bag.
