Yes, I've been lazy...don't remind me. This week I couldn't avoid it, there's simply too many dope records. Read 'em and weep:

[DRUM & BASS]

Pendulum - Back 2 You/Still Grey on Timeless.
Now you've all heard this anthem getting dropped left right and center in online mixes and at blue dog...but what you may not have heard is they insanely awesome 'Still Grey', a moody deep vocal tune that takes over the soul of all who listen to it. Make no mistake, this IS the record of the week, with both sides mudering wherever they get dropped.

Black Sun Empire - Driving Insane LP on BSE.
Ok maybe there's two records of the week. Although this one actually contains 4 twelves and comes in at a whopping 52 bucks....let's face it: these guys are the new face of hard-as-fuck d&b. With every single track threatening to rip you a new asshole, it's hard to find something I don't like on this LP. Big props to the Netherland crew for maintaing the funk while getting dark and dirty.

DJ Marky & XRS - Moments Of Lust/Highlights on Innerground.
Excellent sophmore release from the brizillian masters. As a sampler for their forthcoming LP, Marky & XRS commission help from Vikter Duplaix, who drops vocal 'radio style' on the a-side. While this tune does have a bit of that cheese factor, you've got to give it to these guys for bringing in new heads to the jungle scene by making it for the masses.

Blue Skin feat. MC Fats - Something's Going On/Working 4 Tomorrow on Blue Skin.
Once again trying that 'singing thing', MC Fats grabs the mic and lays it down smooth. Stricly for the luquid funk massive...Special K & D'Cruze come with one of their finest basslines to date.

Total Science - Pop Psychology (D.Kay RMX)/Make Me Feel (Friction RMX) on CIA LTD.
I can't even decide which side is better, but I think I'm leaning towards the 'Make Me Feel' RMX simply because of that classic status the tune has already achieved. Both sides keep the original TS vibe alive while tastefully adding some very heavy basslines of their own design. Nice.

Matrix & Danny J - Vertigo on Metro.
This record would probably be the record of the week if it weren't for the progressive house remix on the flip. Yes indeed, Matrix has turned to the dark side, using his Goldtrix moniker, remixing his entrancing 'Vertigo' into a thumpin' bumpin' circuit party track. But don't worry, the original is not damaged by this, and will still bring tears to your eyes while waiving your hands in the air, doing that 'spirit fingers' thing.

Various - Heavy Load EP 2/2 on Cargo.
You know you liked part 1 with the awesome Hit 'n Run. Now get ready for it, Stakka & K.Tee's 'Echo Chamber' gets the remix treatment by none other then the US' Kaos, Karl K & Jae Kennedy. You'll be hearing this one for some time now. By the way, best b-side of the week goes to this puppy right here: Stakka & Hochi's 'Mars Attacks'.

Chikinki - Like It Or Leave It RMXS on Island.
We got this one in for the die-hard Lemon D fans. Lemon remixes this radio tune into a nice little thumper, very reminiscent of Dillinja's remix of Basement Jaxx's 'Lucky Star'.

KC - Extreme Steel EP on Human.
Metal 'n Bass alert! Dieselboy grabs unknown producer KC for a strictly hardcore record. Now I don't exactly know my metal but I'm pretty sure 'Archangel' samples another Slayer tuen again....to dazzling effect. 'Deströyer' follows on the same tip, but this time slows down the riff and gently brings it back up to speed, until the drop...at which point all hell breaks loose and it turns into a Megadeth concert. Rock on!

Ice Minus - Clones/Seven Months on Tech Itch.
They're baaaaaaaack.

HoldTight - Be Strong/Girl Next Door on Renegade.
Ok I'm tired of writing.........now.

Due to overwhelming demand, the following record is back in stock:

Pendulum - Spiral/Ulterior Motive on Uprising.
Unless you've been in a coma for the last 6 months, you've heard about this Australian trio of badasses. 'Spiral' is being hailed as one of their best, featuring beautiful strings, haunting vocals and a killer bassline that turns all heads. We sold out of this record so fast I got vinyl rash. Get it while you still can and own a piece of history...Peace,

[DRUM & BASS]

Rob F & Su-Real - Deceit/Breathe on Hostile.
Nice one! New York's Negative comes correct with his brand new label and a very highly anticipated first release. Rob F represents the very essence of neuro-funk drum & bass today...too bad he doesn't make tunes anymore. Get it while you still can. I also happen to have a few advance copies of the next single on this label from Kryptic Minds & Leon Switch.

Zinc - Ska Remix/Fuitella on True Playaz.
Everybody who's anybody knows that Zinc is the true genius behind True Playaz. He always comes up with the craziest tunes, tightest production, and inimitable sound and that's why we love him. On this 12 he remixes the anthem 'Ska' to a dazzling effect, you'll only really know though when you drop it in the mix...smooth...yet hard. Mmmmm, Corey likey!

John B - Pressure 2004/Sight Beyond 2004 on Formation.
It's funny how everyone at Formation dissed my boy John when he made his send-up of Twisted Individual's 'Bandwagon Blues' with 'Blandwagon Poos'. This guy is on 24 hour defense just cuz he's feelin' the electro vibe, but it's all smiles when he churns out this dancfloor killer. For those who remember, 'Pressure' is one of John B's earliest hits, but that hasn't stopped him from remixing it yet again! Constantly switching breaks and basslines to keep you guessing and keep you screaming for the rewind...don't sleep.

Pendulum - Spiral/Ulterior Motive - Uprising.
This tune was supposed to come out on Concord Dawn's Low Profile imprint over 6 months ago. So you may have heard of people rinsing it on promo for some time now. However due to the huge Vinyl Distribution upset and general reshuffling of the industry it has now switched over to Concord Dawn's brand new Uprising Records. As if I need to tell you this tune will shake you down to your very foundations. Always groundbreaking, keep your eyes peeled for the forthcoming Concord Dawn LP.

Bulletproof & Optiv - Hit & Run/Filthy Sinner on Cyanide.
Also a long time coming...praise the lord! Optiv is here! Cause 4 Concern's main man joins up with Australia's Bulletproof to give you nothing but tech. Only advance promos of this one so get 'em while you can!

Kings Of The Rollers Sampler 1 on 31 Records.
Woah. Doc Scott all over this one! The man behind the label steps forward with remixes of 2 of his most famous tunes under his typical Nasty Habits guise. First up '4 Da Cause' (previously on the Reinforced 'Enforcers' series) gets a touch up from the Doc AND Baron featuring vocals from MC Justyce...BOUNCY. Next up, the anthem 'Shadow Boxing' gets the remix treatment from none other then Jonny L. Like I said...woah.

King Of The Rollers Sampler 2 on 31 Records.
More more more. For those of you looking for the more tech-y side of d&b, check out Friction's 'Aurora' and let it rip. Kontrol takes over the b-side with 'Echoes Of Light' and a real twisted bassline keeps us all in check...both tunes are very solid.

Goldie - Angel III/Sinister THE REMIXES on Razors Edge.
Goldie summons his Metalheadz sub-label to rise from the dead, and in doing so commissions 2 very classy remixes of 2 very classy tunes. Goldie's 'Angel' gets taken on by Loxy & Ink, while the legendary 'Sinister' gets redone by Spirit. All I gotta say is: Mentasms galore.

Concept 2 feat. Sare X - Discology/Twisted Funk on Liftin' Spirit.
Don't be distracted by the artist name, this is indeed Andy C & Ant Miles dropping some of their trademark RAM sounds. Some nice female vocals that aren't overdone make this record phat AND funky...that's the great thing about these records, they will work on a more musical level and still rock a dancefloor. Check it.

DJ Craze & Juju - The Money/U Ain't Ready on Cartel.
#2 from the Craze & Juju's new label and some might just say that these guys are finally tapping a source that Capital J has known about all along. Fat bouncy bassline, fresh hip hop smaples and some A-Class scratching make both sides of this record a nice surprise.

Laroque - Duality/5-0 on Fokuz.
All I gotta say is that one day 'Goldfinger' will come out on Hospital and you will all say "oooooooh, now i get it". Laroque are the next big thing, and you now have no excuse for not checking them out when this shit drops.

[RAGGA JUNGLE ALERT!!!]

Remarc - Unreleased Dubs 94-96 on Planet-Mu.
I shouldn't have to explain this. None of these tunes have ever seen the light of day...unless you've heard Remarc himself drop these on dubplate, this is a first. All anthems here, and yes...ALL AMENS. If you have even an ounce of ragga junglist blood in your veins, you will need to cop this 4-peice vinyl set of unreleased classics. Period.

There MIGHT be more shit on friday....but I don't see why.

Peace,

Corey

This Saturday we continue on our quest to bring you cutting edge Drum & Bass and Breaks in a new thought-provoking, ass-shaking manner.

The night features myself (Corey K) and Soundshaper playing a diverse set of Breaks as well as Drum & Bass...but the real twist is the 4 Turntable setup used along with CD players to create something we feel is really distinctive.

Some words we thought up to describe the styles of music we play are: Eclectic, Minimal, Dubby, Moody and Emotional.....so basically we have no idea how to explain what we do, we just know it's different.

Thanks to everyone who's been showing up to our one-off Shake & Break events in the past, it been awesome!

If there ever was a week to save up for...this is it. I don't remember the last time we've had this many dope records in the store at the same time. Pay attention.......

[DRUM & BASS]

Keaton & Hive - Bring It On/Under Pressure on Violence.
The UK and US join forces to create what will go down as one of the biggest tunes this year, and it's only February! Clissic rap vocal sample, classic hip hop horns and one sick drum kit all in one tune...it made my mom get down. The flip is absolutely retarded: dillinja style drums, another hot rap vocal and SLAMMIN' bass. The only reason it isn't the tune of the week is because of...

Pendulum - Another Planet/Voyager on Breakbeat Kaos.
Tune of the week! Australia's finest come with the precursor to the sicker then sick LP coming shortly. Both tunes really do sound like they are from outer space...production quality of these tunes is also out of thie world. First they're like BAM BAM BAM, and then they go VROOM and then it's like WAAH WAAH WAHH and after that it goes BOOM BOOM and WOW. Basically these guys are the future of drum & bass.

Corrupt Souls - Wicked Life EP on Moving Shadow.
Impulse & Telemetrik are Corrupt Souls. Moving Shadow pull off a wicked coup, nabbing these 4 little gems for their X series of limited EPs. Do you know what this means? It means if you want one you have to come and get it! Cuz once it's sold out, it's sold out....period! What are you doing? Stop scrolling down, reach in your goddamn pocket and count your pennies...why? cuz we ain't even NEAR finished yet.

Concord Dawn - Morning Light (Klute RMX)/Don't Tell Me feat. Tiki on Timeless.
This is what we in the buisness call a "teaser" (imagine me standing in front of you making imaginary quotations with my fingers now). This "teaser" happens to contain not one but TWO anthems. Why? I don't know. Basically, Concord Dawn's new album called "Uprising" is about to drop on their new label, also called "Uprising", and these 2 tracks are some of the best on it. I bet you sing along to the b-side after listening to it ONCE.

D.Kay - The Martians/Concord Dawn - Bad Bones (ill.skillz RMX) on Freak.
What's that you say? : "Corey make it stop!"
My response: "hahahahahaah, Never!"

Klute - Growl/Lost Connection on Commercial Suicide.
I'm sorry, is that your wallet or are you just happy to see me? We've all been waiting since the album for new material and he it is baby...I think it might be in my best interest to take my phone number off this post. Stop record store harrassment now!

Paul B & Subwave - What U Need/Garon - Raw Power on Sonix.
Once again, Aquasky find the bombs. Paul B & Subwave give a smooth, deep, dark and twisted piece of tech-step that you just have to dance to. While state-side's Garon comes with the REESE bassline madness, sampling the classic breaks tune of the same name 'Raw Power' is one of my favorite tunes right now.

Trust - Redeemer/Mason & D Star - Iron Curtain on Intasound.
The one and only DJ Bailey comes correct with the first release on his Intasound label. Putting out virtually unknown talent, both sides have a distinctly dubby feel, with very intricate live sounding drum kits, very dark shit. Be sure to check his 'Intabeats' online radio show on BBC 1xtra.

Clipz - Cocoa/Jiggy on Full Cycle.
3rd release in the Clipz series on Full Cycle, each one getting better then the last. More bouncy business from the jump-up king, and you know what that means...more cheesy vocals! Yahoo! Ok, so maybe you don't like cheesy vocals, but for those who do, check out the flip featuring MC Sweetpea.

Nu:tone - Breathless/Feel It on Hospital.
You know it. Nu:tone is the latest signing to Hospital and they don't make mistakes...his LP is on the way and everyone from John B to Marcus Intalex to High Contrast is dropping his shit. Do you know what this means!!?!?! Me neither.

Drumsound & Bassline Smith - Tinman/Palamino on Technique.
More badness from the Technique crew, definetly typical sounding for them, but a little bit on the darker side of things, which makes this record very interesting. Check it out.

From The Streets Vol.1 - Bootleg.
Very hush hush remix of the one and only Beyonce's 'Crazy In Love' featuring Jay Z. Fortunatly for you, I don't like keeping secrets...it's Pehsay.

I'm so FUCKING tired of typing...so if you want to see the breaks, you're gonna have to come on down to the sation house.

wait a minute...

how can I just jump into the finer points of anal beads without first explaining WHY i want you to rip them to shreds?

Old School Rave/Hardcore:
Rave is the precursor to modern Hardcore. THIS is the precursor to modern Jungle/Drum n Bass (and Happy Hardcore). In the early 90s this is what was real RAVE music. It dominated the oldskool underground scene with spastic beats and chipmunk female vocals--influencing all latter ventures into jungle and happy hardcore. There was a sub-sub-genre of this that split-off around 93-94 that got really fucking silly, with samples of children, cartoons, and nursery rhymes, called Toytown for its infantilism. It gave birth to Candy Ravers.

Happy Hardcore
Happy Hardcore is like the spoiled little sibling of the Hardcore family, who got all the breaks, all the looks, all the money, all the chicks and all the successes of life without having to work for it. Just about despised by every other genre, Happy Hardcore is the most popular Hardcore music of all, with its signature chipmunk vocals and silly sing-a-long anthems and shameless hug-a-thon optimism that pisses everybody off to no end. This is the core realm of the candy ravers. Some of the stuff feels so godawfully childish that I feel like a pedophile just listening to it, but its not all bad. Truth be known: ALL the world's Happy Hardcore is made by only 12 guys, who have more pseudonyms than a shark has teeth, and who churn it out at such a feverish pace you'd almost think that there's probably a program that makes it for them. Just randomize the key values, get Sugar from YTV to sing the lyrics, and away you go.

no no, that's beads...not beeds.

Dear Alice,

What are anal beads and how do you use them?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Dear Reader,

Anal beads are a type of sex toy for both men and women to use when alone or with a partner. This toy is a good introduction to anal sex for beginners. Typically, anal beads are smooth, round spheres made of silicone or plastic. Resembling a short strand of pearls, the beads are connected to one another by a piece of nylon cord or other type of strong rope-like material, with a ring or some other type of handle at one end. Some anal beads feel soft to the touch, while others are firm and textured. The beads are inserted gently one bead at a time into a person's anus. At the moment of orgasm (or at other times), they are pulled out by the ring or handle. Another version of anal beads is similar to a dildo — made of plastic or rubber — where the shaft is a series of round spheres.

Anal beads are available in various sizes. Some people — especially beginners — use smaller beads at first. Others find that larger beads heighten the level of arousal and intensity. Since the outer sphincter of the anus has many nerve endings, the sensations produced by the movement of anal beads can cause intense arousal. Once inside, the inner sphincter responds to pressure that the beads — depending on the size — may create.

Some people experience pleasure during insertion. Others enjoy the sensation of the beads being pulled out when reaching orgasm as they can enhance climax. Some folks are able to orgasm exclusively from anal stimulation. Others, however, are more likely to orgasm when the anus and genitals are aroused simultaneously.

Relaxation and lube are two important ingredients in any type of anal sex. This minimizes or prevents the possibility of tearing the thin lining of the rectum. It also makes insertion easier and more comfortable. Taking a warm bath can help relax the muscles in the anus, too.

Important tips to keep in mind include:

choosing anal beads or other toys that are smooth in texture. These will not tear the lining of the rectum. Sometimes anal beads and other sex toys have a rough seam around each bead. It's important to file these rough edges with an emery board before use.
making sure that the cord is strong and that the beads are connected securely.
placing the anal beads inside a condom (so that they are enclosed in a latex or polyurethane condom) before inserting them to keep them clean. It will also make it safer if you're sharing them with your partner. If you choose not to use a condom, consider buying silicone beads rather than plastic, which are porous and more likely to trap bacteria. Anal beads can be washed with mild soap and warm water and need to be completely dry before being put away.
selecting anal sex toys that have a wide base or handle. This will help ensure that they remain partly outside of the anus at all times. Without this wide end, the toy can slip deep inside the rectum, making removal difficult.
