Well, when they put price back to hamilton, it was obvious that then NEEDED to give Huet a chance (at that point, he was just comming back from injury and a really crappy start of season) to higher his GAA, to increase his trade value. it was like a marketing scam from the start and it worked, because as mentionned, it was expected that we would loose HUETTE at the end of the year anyways because he was a free agent !!

Gainey knew what he was doing this year and what a job he has done.. call him dumb all you want, but the team has never looked better than they do now, and all that, thanks to Gainey !!!

but yeah, i would trade our 2nd line for hossa (two 100 point seasons and amoung one of the best current nhl players out there) for ryder (never had more than 50 points in a season), higgens (never had more than 50 points in a season) [so far, its equal to hossa's value] and koivu, who will not last more than 1 more season for Pascal.. i think it would be a fair trade, given that hossa sign's after the season..

but whatever, the peng's offer was better !!

Man, Huet's depart is one of the best moves the club could make.. as specified above, Huet is agent libre next season and will most probably be asking for a salary Raise $$ much like Theodore.. Gainy wanted to avoid a simular situation.. i think a second round pick isn't as much as they could have got but at least they moved him.

Huet and Price are about equally as good but price has a lot more time to catchup !!!

if you guys didn't see it comming then maybe you should watch more hockey !! :D
