I read something in this thread that said something like "it is our concern" how parties are getting thrown..

it makes me a little indifferent.. i mean, as a raver going to a random party, i think its more about the "experiance" more than "wow, what a sound system" .. you get it??

I mean, its great to have everything perfect at a party, but without people having fun, what's the point ? If people need good sound systems to have fun in the second room of a party we should ask ourselves some questions !! people are getting so freaking snobby around here its crazy. Why have standards increased so much ?? how does a party affect our scene more than the fucken cry-babies who complained about useless stuff afterwards on forums ??

i mean, if people just had some fun at parties more and didn't focus on the details maybe our scene would be heathier.. you know, be a little ignorant sometimes !!

I am not saying that all parties should have crappy set-ups in pitch-black warehouses with my grandma's TT's and a newmark mixer but people should be able to tell the difference between parties. I mean, what are people to expect from a party without a flyer ??

we are not all Ray Junior over here you know. Maybe people should start to attend 514 parties more often or maybe BeB or BnB !!! great sound over there that's for sure. !!

anyone get my point a little ??

I mean, just as an example, a party i've really had fun at was INTENSE in quebec city about 2 years ago.. the music was probably the worst i've ever heard in my life but that was only 20% of the night.. the people there were great and the vibe was even better.. to be able to walk through 5 different rooms was exactly what i was looking for (exersize in that case as i didnt' stay in any for longer than 10 minutes) !! lol

:)

Bleh.. i've had mine for over 3 years now and i would NEVER use the vinyl mode... NEVER.. even with the sensitivity adjustement (which BTW just adjusts the speed that the track starts up when you let go of the platter, not actually the sensitivity of the jog-wheel) .. :p

Hey everyone,

On Monday, May 19th, the Jester's Court ontechno.fm will be featuring an exclusive Dj Set by Vibrasphere to helppromote this summer's ECLIPSE festival !!!

Vibrasphere hasprovided us with an 80 minute mix to enlighten us and get our mindsready for there massive LIVE set at the festival.

You can catch the show for FREE @ [ www.techno.fm ] ( [ live.techno.fm ] ) from 10pm - 12pm !!!

I have also done an interview with them..

----

Interview with Vibrasphere

Hello guys, thanks for taking the time to participate with this interview.

1) Please guys, state your full names
Rickard Berglöf & Robert Elster

2) How long has the Vibrasphere project been together ?

Since summer of 1998, so close to 10 years now.

3) What was, to you, your first biggest hit ?

For sure the downbeat track San Pedro that we did back in 2000.

4) Vibraspherehas been riding the label, Digital Structures, from the start of therecarreer. What has pushed you guys towards Tribal Vision ?

Wellwe actually change label once before from Spiral trax to DigitalStructures, but after 3 albums on Digital Structures we wanted to trysomething new that is why we switched to Tribal Vision.

5) Can we expect to see lots more of Vibrasphere on Tribal Vision ?

Yeah hopefully we will have another release on this label before the end of this year, but that is still to be confirmed.

6) Finally,we have managed to find a date for you guys here in Montreal, Canada. How do you feel about coming to play at the Eclipse Festival ?

Reallygood actaully. I have heard a lot of good things about this festivaland I am sure it will fulfill my expecations with great environment andvery nice people. Just to clear one thing it will only be me (Rickard)coming for this gig as Robert is still not up for the long haul flightsjust yet.

7) Please clear up the situation with what prevented you guys from playing at last years Eclipse Festival.

Lastsummer I (Rickard) could not come since my daughter was born around thedate of the festival. The booking was closed long before I even knew mywife was pregnant so this is why we had to cancel this gig.

8) What are the odds of hearing my favorite tracks, Monsoon + Echo Plantation at the Eclipse Festival this year ?

Idoubt we will ever play Monsson again, but we are actaully currentlyworking on a remix of Echo Plantation so hopefully that one will be inthe new live set.

9) What time during the festival would be, in your opinion, the best time for Vibrashpere.

Easy! Morning time for the trance live and early evening for the Chillout live.

10) What can we expect from you guys during your LIVE set ? new stuff, old stuff, new new stuff ? 

Wewill spend the next two months working on the new liveset, but since weare celebrating 10 years of Vibrasphere this year I think for sure weare going to mix up some older stuff with some of the more recentmaterial.

11) In the studio, what do you guys use to compose your music ?

Mac Pro running Logic 8, Moog voyager, Roland 303, Good compressor microphone and loads of Plug-ins.

12) Do you always make music together, in the same room ? or do you work seperatly ?

Wealways make the music in the Cloud 99 studio where we have worked forover 10 years now, but of course we take turns when we work on a track. However most of the arranging we do together.

13) If you could remix any track in the world, what would it be ?

Probably some track by Kraftwerk or perhaps a Depeche mode song.

14) Youguys have came along way since the ECHO album.. what made Vibraspheretake a more melodic trance turn as apose to the original, darker sound ?

Wellwe still like to make even some darker songs, but our goal has neverbeen to stay static in some sound so the future will keep on seeing usevolving our sound in and out of different styles and genres.

15) If you could release your music on any label, which one would you choose and why ?

Would be very nice to do an album on one of the majors provided that they picked us up for the music we have done.

16) Who has been your biggest musical influence?
Forme (Rickard) Depeche mode was my biggest inspiration up until the mid90´s. Robert grew up more on straight electronic music by the end ofthe 90´s.

Thanks so much guys for your feedback. Good luck at the Eclipse festival and knock us dead !!

We will try our best for sure…..see ya!

thing's weren't THAT disorganised when you think about it.. i mean, the DnB room WOULD have had tables + CDJ's if the early drama would have been avoided.. then again, that's almost a positive note cause i got to play in the CD room to replace the vinyl Dj's !! :p

also, the venue is SICK !! i'd love to throw something tiny in that place !!

dunno how toronto would respond that kind of a mix... dunno the crowd... hard to tell

Whats even better is to know, that specific croweds pay more attention to stuff like "headliners" and multi-genre parties.. i know that, most psyfreaks can't even stand techtrance in a psynight.. how can we even imaging to get the psyheads out to a party that has anything besides psy all night ?? Same goes for the DnB crowed.. i'm sure most of em wouldn't be caught dead at a party that has anything more than DnB and breaks...

With that said, which crowed do you want at your party ?? all of them will not be possible !!! Now if you get one of those croweds that came to an all night psy-party, you will have to deal with the people complaining about everything (and psy was just an example) !! Do you want snobbish people at your event ? well, maybe they know the music better than the kandy kids but damn, there's no plur !!!

So is it better to have a room full of mindless druggies having fun at a party with 10 different styles all disorganised, progression wise, but at least everyone is having fun,... or should we throw a party for a specific genre where everyone will just sit and complain about the sound, mixers, lighting, dj's and even how tired they are from there week ??

Its all about who and what YOU want out of your party..

As for needles.. well, dj's should always bring there's just in case for there set (same with headphones)... if not, then they might get stuck playing psytrance insted of HHC or they might have to use a pair of walkman headphones for there set (and its not the promotors fault) !!!

so yeah,

Interview with D-Nox

1) Hi Christian, please let your fans know your complete name.

Hi, my real name is Christian Wedekind

2) Is it true you will have the honor this year to play a Dj set at Canada’s Eclipse Festival ?

Yes I have the honor of playing a DJ set at the Eclipse Festival 2008.

3) Will this be your first time appearance in Canada?

It will also be my first time playing in Canada.

4) Can you give us a small idea of the sound we can expect from you at this festival ?

Wow, heavy question. Since I don’t like to put my sound into certain folders it makes it hard for me to give u an idea. Well lets say I will play Techno which contains elements of trance, house and minimal. I like to pick tracks from all genres and bring them together in my sets. I have to say that I usually never play faster then 130bpm, so u can guess what type of sound to expect.

5) What would be the ideal time for the that type of set and about how long of a set can we expect ?

I love to play the last set, the closing set or at least a set during the afternoon. I dislike short sets, Everything less then 3 hours I dislike, I need time to get to a certain point where things just happen, I call it autopilot. I need to get connected to the crowd, I need to find out where to go with my music and I need to see the reaction to know how far I can go.

6) Your close friend, Frank Beckers, has been at your side the whole time. How did you help each other to grow and become who you are today?

No we are not together all the time, actually the only time we spend together is when we work in the studio or when we are touring. Beside this we life our own separate lives. I live in Berlin and he lives 600km far west. I think the reason why things working well for us, are the fact that we both have a totally different background. I mean I was always a Dj, I didn’t do anything else in my live beside school of course. I was already djing by the age of 12. That was when Beckers probably start to play instruments. I never did that. We are totally different influenced but that what makes us work together so well. We use our different background to creat something unique. Well people tell us it is unique, we never thought about it. But I can imagine it is.
It’s a great symbiosis, it so easy and it makes so much fun to work with Beckers. That I hope it will least for long. I´m very thankful that I have met him.

7) What was the first track you both wrote together ?

The very first track we wrote together was a remix for Air Bureau from Sweden.
It was a remix for their track called “We Sine”.

8) Do you find it hard to work with Frank in the studio?

No I don’t find it hard to work with him. He is a very chilled guy, relax and always open for my ideas.

9) What was the first track you wrote by yourself?

I never wrote a track by myself. I don’t think I´m able to. I tried many times, I started hundreds of tracks but I was never able to completed.

10) In your studio, what is your favorite piece of equipment?

I don’t own a studio anymore. I used to have a studio in the 90ties but I never found the right spot to set it up. So I was always moving with my gear. Now my gear all spread around.
We are mainly working in Franks studio or sometimes when we find the time on tour.

11) In the release of your studio album “Left Behind”, what influenced you to release it as a mixed CD as apose to a regular CD ?

Well we didn’t want to release another boring cd compilation with 8 single tracks.
Nobody at home really cares about the intro and outro of a techno track. Its always 1 minute or more of build up and down. Also we didn’t want to give out our tracks this way. We knew that dj´s don’t buy compilations anyway, that’s why we offered all our tracks at beatport (for dj´s) and for the fan and followers we did the cd the way it is.
1 hour nonstop, flowing and taking u somewhere. We found it more interesting this way.

12) Will there be more D-Nox and Beckers ? maybe plans for a new album?

We just released another mix cd, which contains only tracks by us or collaborations we did with friends. The cd is called “City Lights” and was just released.
After that we will see if we go into another album. We find it more effective to release singles or remixes. They have always brought us bigger response then the album or mix cd´s.

13) Have you tried to work with any other artists in the past?

Yes I have tried to work with a few but never succeed. I´m happy the way it is right now and I wish it will continue.

14) What artist really inspires you at this moment ?

There are a few but I never remember any names. Maybe Dubfires way of producing is what I really like but I´m into so many different styles that’s it makes it hard to name a few. Henry Saiz, Mathew Jonson, Radio Slave and so on. There are so many good artist that give my ideas

15) In your career, what has been your favorite booking and why ?

I always love to play in Japan and Brazil, those places have the best parties and set ups. Also I love to play in Portugal or in Israel. There I always had a great time and those places never let me down. I love to come back to a place where I have played before, this way I get to know the crowd and know what to expect.

16) Last but not least, how is your label, Sprout, doing ? any plans for new releases ?

My label is doing better then ever before. This is because I quit vinyls and release on digital. That saves lots of money. I can release much faster and choose better or bigger remix artist because I have a bigger budget. Also I think I just found the way I wanna go with my label. It took some time but I was never as happy with my label artist and what they write. Last few releases are more than proper. Maybe a year ago I was about to close the label down but now things looking so much better.

Thank you very much for taking the time to complete this interview and we are looking forward to hearing your set at the 2008 Eclipse festival.

All tbe best,

Vincenzo, Dj Clown @ Jester Records

no, i don't think you can play split screen.. dood, its all in your cell phone !! first, you have to add your friends into your ps3 (regardless of GTA, in your settings for the PS3).. then, you can see your on-line friends who are currently playing.. you then invite them through your cell-phone (in the game obviously).. once they join your newly created game, the map is all yours.. no cops, lots of guns and no timers !! just DEATH !!! :D
