what a blast.. got to see tons of peeps i haven't met up with in ages..

the music was sick.. i got there just in time for atomic children, and i must say, there live act is something special. they had live radio samples playing over there tracks... not much of the songs were dancable (4/4 beats), but the sound was nice...

dj screwhead was rocking the place with some metal and breaks. it was nice to hear some good old metalica DnB styles.. i needed my does of DnB.. i missed Seb's set, cause i wounderd off to the hip hop room to umm, well, i don't remember.. hehe..

Since A1 didn't show up (i think Dan forgot to order his limosine or something, or maybe his grandmom passed away...;) ) im not complaining, i got a bit more time to spin thanks to that.. hehehe.. My tag with nter was fun like mad.. it was cool to hear some techno over psytrance tracks.. probably killed any vibe whatsoever, but hey, nobody seemed to complain ;) (ohh and mike, i have blood on my fucken headphones.. massive nose bleed in da house)..

Korey K's set was decent.. some nice DnB tracks.. sucks he ran off 10 secs after his set...

Neoform played some decent break tracks.. like two or something which were quiet tight as usual for neotrance.. Mikey peepee also played a couple of break tracks, the tightest stuff i've heard mike play EVER.. :)

And here we are again with yet another exclusive interview. This time we took the time to exchange a few words with one of the biggest and most original names in the Trance scene so far. Rinkadink is the name everyone seems to be talking about lately and we have the answers to some of the most frequently asked questions. 01. First of all, who is Vana? Please introduce yourself.
Hallo! I'm vana, I'm 24 and I like rabbits and sharks, ice cream, japanese food and video games and smoking skunk.


02. When, where and how did this project come up?
I used to work in computer games, but my mate Shane started to get gigs and travel all over the place, and I thought to myself: Damn! he's having more fun than me!!! So I made plans to get out of the rat race, move back to Cape Town (I was in london at the time) and learn to make some tunes.


03. Why "Rinkadink"?
Theres a company in canada that make those tractor things that shave the ice in an ice rink called rinkadink. More than that i cannot say..


04. What are your tools of trade for sound production?
Whiskey! And a comfy chair with attached computer... and nice speakers and
HUGE monitors and having a place where you can make a noize without the damn tennants under you banging on the ceiling with a broomstick.


05. Do you think Rabbit From Darkside is getting the recognition it deserves?
Hell yeah!!, its been a party since it was released!, my salary-job be damned!! mwahahaha!!!!!


06. What's your musical background/history?
I wanted to be a dj, but I couldnt mix and i was a geeky teenager with spots so I couldn't get into any clubs - so I stayed at home messing with my computer.


07. What artist did you most like to work with?
Swiss 80's electo legend "Yello", x-dream, american pop production team: neptunes, and all my friends around the world who I never get to spend
any time in the studio with..


08. What are your biggest influences?
Whiskey, mtv, and my girlfriend (in that order). Oh! and video games


09. What inspires you to create your music?
Whiskey... No really... Making music is my job, i gotta push myself, sit down and get somthing done, the process alone is inspiring enough to get me all hot and witchy..


10. What do you think about the nowaday's PsyTrance scene?
Its loud, you should wear ear plugs to avoid permanent damage... I think that psytrance breeds a sort of arrogence, like people think that trance is the top form of dance music and everything else is shit... People in other scenes are a lot more open to other types of music.


11. Do you follow a specific life style? What's your philosophy in life?
I try to stay healthy, eat lots of fish, wear sunblock, keep an unsoiled mind... most of the time :-)


12. Best party you ever played at...?
London parties rock!, but consistently I love japanese parties, maybe I'm just biased cuz I love the place.
