Fearless: 7/10
Jet Li doing the guy who started Wushu. Highly romanticised. Passive fashism. I don't know if that made sense to anyone. It's pretty condescending to other cultures in a not so talented subtle way. Good martial arts of course, nothing out of the ordinary. It's a feel good movie if your chinese.

The promise: 6/10
When I see too much make-up, or this uber moralising story line, I get annoyed. It may be a kids movie, I dont' know, I'm not chinese. I think it might even be a girl flick, seriously, you never know. But there's this fairy like land, and the ppl there were semi gods, and this one guy that survived is now a slave.. yatti yatti yatta. You get what I'm saying...

Great martial arts, ppl flying around, visualy interesting for the decors and costumes. So not the movie reviewer here..
