Was that a party or was that a party!! Mega props to Tech Safari for bringing us all together once again to dance under the stars. What a way to spend a weekend! Big thanks to Yann, Rickam and crew for inviting me to play! It was truly an honor and by far the most outstanding experience of my life playing for you all! The energy flow was more than enough to keep me primed for the future…. Seeing everyone going nuts to the beats was fantastic, the view from the stage was out of this world, I couldn’t think of a better way to spend my b-day! To share a part of it with you Mikiram and I have edited a 20 minute video that was taken during my set that I will post here as soon as its uploaded.

Enlightenment of the weekend: waking up to Smashing Pumpkins 1979 rolling over the hills..props to my man Galaksy for breaking my face with the biggest smile I’ve had in a long time and to Wizzy Noise for dropping the sickest live I’ve heard since Omnidance NY a few years back. I danced my ass off and I now know for a fact having both Mikey and Uriel there is key…just WOW! And last but not least RESPECT to all the local heroes for once again representing our scene propa!

I’m stoked to hear everything worked out for the Tech Safari crew and that Eclipse will see yet another summer.. [ forum.psyfreaks.ca ] ..I cant wait! Bref, I had a blast and I hope everyone had as good a time as I did. See you all on the dancefloor soon. Peace – Kalan

Dj Horizon


DJ Horizon is Gregory Hall, and has resided all his life in France, Germany, UK and now Montreal, Canada. He was introduced to the London underground trance scene at the age of 17 years when moving to London. He taught himself how produce music and mix. In early 1999, decided to create his own psychedelic parties named Event Horizon. Within one year he accomplished several full-on events presenting top quality artists and each party displaying different themes, décor and vibe. Now based in Montreal, Canada Horizon is continuously pushing his boundaries to present new ideas and concepts either musically or in event organization. With his background in electronic music production he has pushed to develop a unique djing style (Night/Twilight, Full-on and Morning) to portray maximum energy on international dance floors. Horizon has preformed all over Europe, Canada and the US. He’s preformed in cities like Graz - Austria, London & Manchester, Ottawa & Montreal, San Francisco, New York etc. He is currently working for Twenty4seven Records presenting exclusive unreleased material in his sets from the label. Currently he is now working full-time in the studio & preparing compilations soon to be released on the label.

The Icaro Project is a fusion of live electronic music mixed with film narrative elements. The audience participates in the telling of a story in which they become one of the characters. The story is told through music as well as projected settings and images which introduce the audience to a host of characters and concepts.

Sound:
Expression has always been a fundamental theme in Kevin Doucet's life, even at an early age. Using any resources at his disposal he found new ways of expressing his ideas and emotions, which has always remained an important tool in his development. He played the electric bass in several bands throughout high school with influences ranging from Jazz to industrial music. During college he studied film and the visual arts, discovering new ways to experiment with video and photography. Exposed early on to the Montreal rave scene, he immediately fell in love with the sounds of drum n' bass which inspired him to DJ for several years under the name Stasis.

After working on a variety of projects and working with new creative technologies as an Apple computer technician, Kevin combined his background in film and music to create a form of story telling that uses live music with film narrative elements. With a new home studio and the help and support of creative visual artist Maya Kramer he has been assembling the visual and sonic properties of "The Icaro Project" - a unique live experience.

I send my stuff out to have mastered..its an art form in itself. depending on who I go with it costs me between 20-40$ a track.
