Hola!
My name is Andrey.
I’m a founder of psy trance project SynSUN and electro house project Andi VAX.
I would like to represent you the free video tutorial which is dedicated to secrets of mixing the dance music.
This video is for advanced producer who has an experience of two or more years.
For young and talanted there is a numerous tutorials with basic information.
The reason why I did it were a lot of questions and requests from young producers and professionals about my way of creating and processing the sound.
I’ve read a numerous tutorials about mixing and mastering music and the main it’s disadvantage is that the creators emphasis on ROCK and POP music, they are not paying attention on really important aspects of mixing and not explaining “HOW to make” instead of “WHY we do exactly THIS”.
I’ve not found an explanation of some important moments there, so my answers on my questions where burned from the long way of tests and mistake and also from by discussions with my colleges.
I've utilized in this video the most effective plugins, hardware and software synthesizers for deeper understanding the process.
What I explain here is not a gospel truth. This is only my vision of some aspects in sound recording and here I propose just one of the possible ways for achievement the good quality.

Dedicated to all who create. We are the world.

host.. thanks for doin the mix. intresting ways to bring in tracks.. the kind of suff you dont hear most dj's in the genre do. I think with a little attention to lowend phasing and just general paractise overall youd have something pretty origional there. I know it really aint your bag, but its cool to hear a dj from another genre rip into psytrance. Do you mix in your headphones or with one ear on the monitor? Ive found by only mixing in the headphones you get a much better grasp of how the tracks are synched up... Then switching to the master output in the headphones to nail the eqing if you have that option.

Mike.. not many djs here are into that particular kind of psytrance so you wont hear it in every psy party... Over all I think its important to be as technical as possible, you really wanna keep the dancefloor in that trance bubble state of mind...

I had no business even doing it to be honest, and the thanks I get for putting the time into it and respecting the deal is you twisting it all up like the little handicap you are and trying to make me look like a cunt. Whos the real troll? fuck you. YOU say psytrance is rubbish to mix... GIVE IT A SHOT and post it here MONEY MAN. Now.. dont come back again with what I did or didnt do.. it never was and never will be the fundamental issue here. Either way I say fuckit... I dont wanna play this shithead game anymore. It wasnt mixed in ableton for the last time you fucking fencepost. I remastered 2 of your shit mp3's in ableton before mixing them cuz they sounded super weak compared to the rest you deaf moron.. (and he calls himself a musician).... I didnt set up shit in ableton.. by mapping I meant took some notes on what to do and where and where to start shit when mixing the tunes together etc after much trial and error with cdj's... mapping means taking notes of what works and what doesnt you fucking toaster moose. Its just how I do things.. especially with music I dont know and limited time to get to know it. As for the added fx you speak of?.. what the fuck are you talking about... if you mean the two rewinds I pulled.. the cdj 800's do it in vinyl mode.. look into it genious.

BUT

This isnt about me... This is about your mouth writing cheques your ass cant deliver. I still wanna hear what you can do with psytrance BIGMOUTH. If your as good as your cronies say you are then this mix shouldnt have taken you more than 45 minutes to do. Too bad you have nothing to show for yourself but a couple arrogant retarded posts that prove nothing other than you still have NO FUCKING CLUE WHAT YOUR TALKING ABOUT..CHUMP.

fool you with what?.. Im not the one on the cutting block here.... I never said I was a drum'n'bass God.... And foremost I never ever said that it took no talent whatsoever to mix, as you have so blatantly stated with psytrance.

Well... The mix wasnt done in Ableton I just used the waves l2 on a few of the tracks to fatten up the wav form a bit beforehand then once I was done recording in soundforge I stuck a light compression on the whole thing.. Either way Host sure ducked out of this one like a pro.. you know what.. fukkit. youre a real winner. nice goin' kid ;)

Host.. triggered in ableton.. why cuz I can beatmatch then cue a cd and press play on time and keep it synched, isnt that part of the job?.. And as for the mp3's just look at the wav form of some that you sent me.. they're horrible! so I beefed em up a bit thats all.. you should too if you wanna get your shit quality mp3's to sound a bit phatter before playin'em out...

If psytrance is so easy and takes no talent to mix.. why are you making such a big deal over all this.. just mix the shit, post it and be done with it.

WHAT NOONE SEEMS TO UNDERSTAND HERE IS THIS IS NOT A COMPETITION!!...I NEVER SAID I WAS BETTER THAN ANYONE AT DOING ANYTHING.... I simply asked Host to put his money where his mouth is and atleast try mixing the music he slams so readily and constantly. The only reason I even offered to do a mix aswell was so he wouldnt feel it was all on his shoulders and be fair about the work load, NOT to prove that I was any better than him. Its nothing personal but Id really like to hear what the guy can do with psytrance if he considers it such a talentless mileu.

HOST IF PSYTRANCE TAKES NO TALENT TO MIX>>> SHOW US WHAT YOU CAN DO WITH IT PLEASE!

Update » Br34th3 wrote on Tue Sep 11, 2007 @ 2:44pm

well well... ok here it is.. I will admit to using ableton but only to re-ghetto-master the shitty fucking mp3's you sent me....and I limited it all slightly once I was done. I did map it all out before hand and even then it took me countless tries to nail it. Tuff stuff to mess around with after so long. I also left out that Quemists track cuz I was having a hard time with it and felt it was ruining the mix. Havn't touched or really listened drum n bass in over 5 years.. thanks for the trip, that Spor track is off the hook, I really dig that dry style, is all his stuff crazy like that?

The excersise was never really a challenge between you and I, Im not the one running around shooting my mouth off accusing dj's of not needing talent to mix certain genres, it all takes talent. The only reason I offered to do a mix in the first place was so you wouldnt feel like you were doing all the work. The whole point was to get you to atleast try mixing other genres before making such ignorant statements as you have been. If your not going to atleast give it a shot, please in the future...quit it with the lip. -K

Rawali... heres the tracks I gave him:

After trying all night yesterday and all morning... dismantling the whole machine cleaning it, changing cables, removing the battery etc... it still wouldnt boot up. I followed flo's advice about checking the last command line in the bios before it froze up turns out the solution was as simple as unplugging my external usb drive and powering up. Even when I plugged the drive in after a succesful boot into windows it froze up the machine for the first few times and then for no apparant reason it just started working... everythings fine now, Ive re-booted a few times since with no issues, but man that was fucking strange. I really dont understand Pc's sometimes.
