one thing I find somewhat interesting in retrospect is that this place wasn't all that much bigger than an apartment, and we weren't being super loud either...

In other words, we could throw house parties like that! Avoiding any illegality altogether. But even at a house party, people need to respect common sense, I mean, if you are chilling outside a place that we are supposed to be keeping hidden, if you can see the street, the street can see you. Doesn't take a genius to realize that.
I realize that some of you didn't want to stay inside for whatever reason, but it's not fair to get the party discovered and shut down for everyone, so next time... You don't want to stay inside? Leave. Because there's no 'going back inside later' when the party is more likely to be shut down because of you.
So in the future, for anyone who was outside, use your noodle and stay out of sight and stay quiet.

Truth dreadstyles

If she is planning on using bees wax, or ANY product whatsoever, DON'T DO IT!!!
There's a technique that requires nothing but hair, and you can wash your hair as often as you like with normal shampoo. I have the contact of a guy who knows the real way to do dreads for white people, it's painful and expensive but you will look good, not like shit.

By the way, colorful extensions are great for a night out, but if you plan on having them for months, I would seriously reconsider. You don't want to sleep on nylons, or really have anything 'fake' on your self for long periods of time, it's unnatural and will end up looking f(*%# strange more than anything else. The human body is beautiful on it's own...
long term extensions are like girls who put on way too much makeup. You don't want people to ONLY be looking at your hair you know? If they are bright green or orange or something, you might end up just looking like a cybergoth freak to most people.
Of course your true friends won't mind, but first impressions in all scenarios ARE important...

Dreads, like piercings or tattoos that are obvious, may not prevent you from getting the job, but garanteed that if the place ain't specifically hippie oriented or friendly, they will choose someone else if they don't have dreads, piercings, etc.
Take it from me, someone who has had long dreads for quite some time now. Dreads will not stop you from finding a job, but if you want a specific job, don't have dreads or piercings, in NO circumstances will they 'help' you get the job (rare exceptions, but that should be self evident)
A few possible scenarios: from most likely to least likely...
-they will interview multiple people, and choose someone who has normal features regardless of qualifications (unless you're the best by far, but let's face it, you're not, you have dreads)
-they won't even consider you because you do not conform
-they will consider you like everyone else, but if you are equal to someone qualification wise, you won't be chosen
-they won't care at all

But I warn you, for white people anyway, dreads are definitely a sign of immaturity/rebellion. If you're not immature, then you are counter culture, either way it will be seeing as a negative. If you want a serious job with serious people and you don't hold all the cards, dress business casual and be cleanly shaved and business casual hair.

Mohawks, dreads, dyed hair are extremes, if you want the most possible people to agree with you, don't be an extreme.
