I just got a sweet logitec mouse with a "frictionless" scroll wheel and it only takes about a minute to get down hear. I figured it was the best way to test it out.

Difference in opinions aside: I gotta say that they weren't just spouting negative verbal diarrhea, they were voicing concerns about a system they didn't understand/agree with like I was. I could be wrong but nobody xcept mickos said anything about boycotting...

A_X_Cell: sorry mang, it looked like you were promoting with 'em by your comment. And yeah, it did sound kind of insulting but I'll take your word that you didn't mean it that way. I'm a reasonable guy and as I mentioned before, I wish nothing but success to these guys, I kinda 'point formed' the arguments so they (the promoters) could reply with their logic, which has yet to happen :S

and as Host mentioned, this drama is keeping this thead alive; criticism or not, people are talking, be thankful for that. and heck, without a line up, this is one hell of a mysterious party! I hope there will be headliners as well, cause mount radar is hella far to drive for locals.

Now hear ye hear ye! (to the promoters) If you want to attract people, renegade stages included, you're going to need some vision, a format, some basic event info at least. You gotta put your best foot forward, not make your first impression by saying that artists have to pay full price. I realize you need to cover the costs of the location, and so you can't let everyone with a CD case in, but you can't treat anyone setting up a stage exactly the same as everyone else either, you're not going to impress anyone like that.

Be flexible. Realize that you can't have EVERYONE set up a renegade stage either, Mount Radar ain't gigantic, if you have more than 5-6 renegade stages, it's going to hurt everyone's weekend with trainwrecking competing sound systems. I say support the renegade stages somehow, treat them as fellow promoters more than just customers, at least in theory. Life's not fair, but creating the illusion that it is is a really important business concept :P

If you don't try, you'll never succeed. So there, all I was doing was creating potential for the possibility of being included. :P

a system can only be as perfect as the people enforcing it... no system is perfect, but we are better with the police then without because in general, good people never find themselves in direct confrontation with the police and therefor will never have to experience the violence that is necessary. Don't get me wrong, I hate it as much as anyone, but again, without 'em, we'd be more fucked.

K first of all I totally understood all of that from the very beginning. I can't see why you need to mention that again, it's freaking clear aight!?

Second of all, I was totally speaking for myself and not as DJ Psydraulix. I mentioned myself as a DJ because I do me absolute best to always play killer tunes and mix 'em as harmoniously as possible. So really, it's never a bad idea to include me unless Psytrance is out of the question, which is fine, to each his own damn it!

Thirdly, way to put down your clientele:
"If you want to do it, you do it at your own risks and fees because guess what, you weren't booked at this party anyway! You're just some people attending the party who thinks they can add the their little salt piece to the party."
If I were planning on attending and bringing my 'little salt piece' to your party, I'd say 'fuck you for belittling me, you can take your renegade stage and shove it' right about now.

However, I am not planning on attending, muchless spinning at your event. For fuck's sake I don't even know what style or DJs ARE booked at your event. How the hell would I know if I wanted to come or not...
Get this through your head, you are organizing an electronic music event (right?!), you're not going to attract ANYONE until you promote some freakin' electronic music! At least announce your headliner to build some hype.

Now don't misunderstand me like so many non anglos on this board tend to do. I wish y'all well and if you had replied with anything less than an INSULT to anyone planning a renegade stage, you'd have rocketed yourself to much better vibes and thus a much cleaner and better reputation. But instead you repeat the same BS that got people questioning your methods in the first place and throw in some disrespect to the same people you're trying to attract.
Clean up your language, clean up your attitude and for Jesus Joseph & Mary Christ, talk about MUSIC!!!

I realize that the promotion crews are listed and therefor the styles should be expected from their specialties. But I don't know those promoters, and that means that others won't either. Promotion only works when the consumer understands what you are talking about.
