What you may not realize is that what you're describing is all software. Software which can be written for the iPhone, the iPhone that hasn't been released yet and who's feature list isn't finalized. Besides, would you want your cell to be your credit card? Like you lose your camera/phone/mp3 player and back account at the same time, fuck THAT.
And wait, wireless internet without wifi or bluetooth? Bluetooth and wifi are protocols and frequency standards, the chips have more capabilities than you might imagine, but why build a capability into something that won't be used... For a wireless bus pass (moronic in my opinion considering 1% of bus riders would have one) STM would have to design and implement WITH the manufacturer AND the cell phone company everything. Then they would have to install a wireless terminal in every single bus and metro station to make emotely useful. Japan can do it because they have the population, but here it simply doesn't make sense to put a wireless buspass reader in buses if you're going to put it in every single one. And there's NO point in putting it in buses that get, say, 4-5 people on it when 0 of them will have this thing, so no deal. You would have to start your OWN transit service with everything being brand new from scratch to make that even a remote possibility. So, it's a feasibility issue, it's just not worth it, as 'cool' as you might think it is. VIVA in toronto is a good example, they are relatively new and have tons of features that Montreal bus riders would find futuristic. But they could only achieve that because they were brand new a couple years ago, they saw what options were availlable and implemented the ones that made sense. now I stop ranting.

You guys are all forgetting the most basic truth of life that you really should accept before saying anything or judging anyone. Fuck the laws and the constitutions and right and wrong and good and bad and moral and immoral. Every single living being is free to do whatever they want, that freedom stops when one or many other beings stop him/her. Laws are not preventative, they are in place to determine the method for punishing individuals who break them. Freedom of speech is not a right, it's a fact. Freedom of action is a fact, because you can't stop anyone from doing anything unless you physically get in their way (hence WAR!!!). Yes, there are consequences to our actions but that, in no way, stops us from performing them if we don't care about the consequences or believe we will get away with it. Bush is not a murderer, yes, he has blood on his hands but his intentions were not those of a criminal even though his actions were. Law is relative and law is subject to interpretation.

Besides, killing Bush would achieve nothing but a much more vehement declaration of war against the perpetrators who killed him. Violence solves nothing, but worse, it is a downward spiral. AND furthermore, nothing solves anything because one person's loss is a another person's gain, one person's solution becomes another's problem and so on. Think about it.
