I have nothing against her buying a house... it's just dangerous to do it with someone you're involved with... there's a reason why most apartments with roommates make a point of NOT sleeping with each other, it fucks things up. Besides, I've already mentioned that I was a 'worst-case-scenario' type person, I always expect the worst, that way when things DO work, you feel amazing, and if they don't, well you're not destroyed at least. Something the Dr mentioned was very true about all people, what we think and we say and how we act are so different. I think the worst, but I'll act for the best, so it evens out and I'm labelled as pessimistic or depressed.

I feel ya... I don't agree with his tactics. I must admit I like, above all, to play the devil's advocate so to speak.
But although Bush has a lot to do with what's going on, you must admit that if a different Republican leader was put into power, the exact same thing would have happened. No one man, despite all his influence and manipulation and lies, can achieve what is happening alone. Someone mentioned that the army is voluntary, and that's a good point to keep in mind. Even if Bush is in it for profit, you can bet your ass that 90% of the soldiers over there are in fact fighting for freedom.
There's an expression that I think works well here.
"You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make him drink."
You can deploy all your armies anywhere you want, but you can't make them shoot innocent people, not all the time anyway.

I don't know what your values or beliefs are, but science has been embarrassing all other forms of belief for centuries now and will continue to do so. Science makes this message board possible...
Religion is control, NOTHING ELSE. Spiritual belief is dangerous human behavior in some cases, think about female circumcision. I am not saying there is no God, but it doesn't change anything to believe in one. If you are gullible and short sighted enough to think that there's some all powerful being out there, then maybe you NEED that belief to be a moral person. Most humans need to think that someone is always watching them, otherwise they'll commit crimes and be bad people... I for one understand the importance of being morally responsible without believing that I'll be sent to hell for not being good. KIDS need noble lies, any respectable adult (so few in this world) should NOT need THREATS to be good people.
And no, magic and voodoo are not real, YES anyone who believes in them is a moron. I am not using this term as an insult, although most morons would take it that way. Instead I use it to mean IT'S DEFINITION!

Maybe you are naive, maybe you aren't, i don't know you personally well enough to say. And I am glad that you are happy, so long as you're happyness does not depend on someone else. Because all my 'story' was meant to show was that sooner or later, you're going to lose him and you have to understand that you were born alone and you will die alone, that is real life, anyone who says otherwise is just trying to be nice. Take some truth from a complete stranger (me), if you don't live your life for 'you', you will never truly be a success by your own standards.
