This was my first time at Circus, I like the sound and the lighting, not expertly psychedelic decoration, but that's not what they were going for anyway.
I was amazed at how unprofessional the upper management was, what with changing the price at the last second and throwing in their own DJ with 12 hours notice.
Our contact in the scene, Clown, aka Vince, was the mediator between a great party and Circus, and in the end, great music and an excellent vibe won through! whatever that means...
I had a blast!! props to Vince, Kode Six, Weirding Way and Rickam with solid sounds. I hope more nights like this are on the horizon.

Live drummer, no real kick or bassline. Infected Mushroom, we hardly knew ye...
they are appealing to a larger audience and seem to have lost track of what got them where they are today. It is likely still great music, but not my style... I like psytrance.

every track is individually limited, mixed and maximized... we shall see how that works tonight. I have tested it out on a few systems already and I think everything will go well.

I guess having sounds louder creates a spiral of making everything else louder, that would explain a lot, but I still feel weird about putting percussions that low, like I put my snare at -17, and it's basically not even there...
I should probably doctor my WAV's more than I do...
in any case, experience is key, thank you for the input thusfar :)

kick is at -6db and bass is at -9db, most percussions are between -7 and -14, my synths are all generally below -6

good to know... it's amazingly hard to get some synths sounding good at such low levels though... is there a general level they should hit on their own? or is it really different for each synth?

ok so I am going to send you the unlimited file, I took the sonic maximizer off too,
obviously it is normalized, because otherwise it would clip, which is not something I'd ever let any of my tracks do (anymore) even if I have to limit it.

the BIG problem is trying to get the same levels as pro tracks... like listen to the new xerox vs illumination album, it just plain sounds LOUD...
What I really need is complete education in frequency and electronic theory (maybe?) but I don't have the time/money/will. I mean, it's not like I'll ever make any sufficient sum of money from this to live...

i'm not about to upload the wav... for multiple reasons... but Breathe, i'd love a crash course in what YOU consider 'good' mixing and 'good' mastering...
