I used sturdy ass shoeboxes as stands, they absorb vibrations between the speakers and the floor, that's good right? Also, although my speakers are relatively close to the uncovered wall behind them, the sound seems quite solid... behind my desk littered with mice, keyboards and random knick knacks (prolly shoot frequency vibrations in every direction) is my bed, so that absorbs most of the waves that might come from the opposing wall

You want to DJ and get paid? Grow some balls and ask for money. Don't say "I won't spin unless you pay me X$." Just ask the promoter how much he is going to be paying you, and if he says 'nothing', decide wether you truly want to spin or if it's not worth your time and effort.

Making money in the music biz is NOT a solid way to make money. I love DJing because of the smiles I see on the dancefloor and the consistent flow of people personally thanking me for a good set. Last two gigs I had, I brought my CDJ's and didn't get a single cent. Do I regret it? No. Will I ever accept to do that again? No. It's all about weighing everything out for yourself and deciding what you think you're worth. It's like the dating game, if you don't keep your standards high, you're gonna get fucked, but you're not going to like it.

The best way to have a good party is to somehow convince a club owner to have a themed night. Try Club Bacchus on Crescent, i know they do 'You get the door, we get the bar' type deals. Only thing is the 3AM Limit.

Sure there is lots of land, but there is NO undiscovered land. Everything these is, we, as a species, know about it. Therefore, there's nowhere anyone can really hide or be unaffected by the actions of others. The forests are shrinking and the human species is expanding exponentially.
I have a theory that obesity in the states is actually partially due to a slight deprevation of oxygen, which we all know is the most basic element of life, and required for burning our energy reserves, IE fat and carbs. etc. etc.
