Hey, how's it going?
So you wanna know something about me, well...
I have been living in Montreal since september 2002, and now consider this fantastic place to be my home. I was born British, lived in England when I was a kid but at age 11 my family emigrated to Australia so that explains the accent.
I left Sydney in 1996 to go travel the world. I spent several months back-packing in South East Asia then landed in London where I survived a couple of years before escaping to Paris, ahhhh Paris... and ahhhhhh... the parisians... trust me, I know how good life is in Montreal!
The rest of this is going to read in the 3rd person as it's lifted from my biog at www.thedjlist.com if you don't know the site I recommend you check it out.
Hope to catch you somewhere soon, on the dancefloor, over the internet, or wherever you hear good quality electronic music playing, see ya ;)
Since arriving in Montreal he has established a solid reputation on the dj scene. Constantly searching for new tracks and scouting for new talent, NiGEL likes to always deliver a special experience to his audience. He has held residencies at Le Chill, Stereobar, Gravity and the mythic after-after Castle Lounge. He has played Bar l'Amnesia, Boodah Bar, Velvet and was featured in the line-up for the Techno.FM 1st anniversary party at Circus Afterhours July 2006.
He started djing in London back in 1996 but it wasn't until he moved to Paris in 1998 that the "serious hobby" became a lifestyle. While living in Paris he released his version of the UK progressive house/trance sound onto an unsuspecting Parisian public.
Residencies included Mixer Bar (Paris Marais), Stonewall Bar (les Halles), the after party "Home Deluxe" at La Scene (Bastille) and the celebrated private circuit party "BEYOND" at La Luna (Bastille). He had a regular spot Tuesday nights spinning the upstairs bar at Le Depot and made a guest appearance at the popular monthly party "Butch".
A student of classical music and violin from the age of 6, in his teens he listened to diverse musical styles. He started getting into house music after moving to Sydney in his early 20's but it wasn't until he moved to London in 1996 that he found his true musical love; the UK progressive house/trance beats of Sasha & Digweeds' "Northern Exposure" cd's and his inspiration to dj was born.
Resident dj for internet radio station Techno.FM, NiGEL's show "Progressive Vibe" goes to air LIVE every Saturday night from 21h00 to 23h00 Eastern Time (GMT -5 hrs).
