Finally, who do you tip for the top in 2005? Which promotions do you feel will succeed this year as the market gets a lot more competitive?
It’s always difficult to predict. I think Jason Cortez will do really well as a producer this year. I’ve got a CD of his new tunes are they are all amazing.

Biography: Jason Cortez, Scotland’s number one hard-dance DJ & producer? Well having played after Tiesto earlier this year, gone International with gigs in Scandenavia as well as looking forward to tours of Australia & South Africa and a guest date at Es Paradis in Ibiza for Euphoria you’d probably have to agree.
With a career that has spanned 8 years, a lot of hard work, determination and a passion for music and the scene has seen him get the recognition and status he now has.

Cutting his teeth playing backrooms of mid week student nights, playing a mixture of house and trance classics, Jason’s first break was playing alongside the late Tony De Vit, Seb Fontaine & Jazzy B at Ministry of Sound tours in Edinburgh. This was later followed by a fortnightly residency alongside Andy Farley & Rachel Auburn at Oxygen offshoot club night, Crash. With a growing reputation, Jason set up his now infamous and well respected Nuklearpuppy club night, now established as Scotland’s premier hard-dance night, with events in 4 cities. Nuklearpuppy’s success, has seen it pick up nominations by Mixmag for ‘Best Scottish Club 2003’, ‘Best Scottish Club 2004’ & ‘Best Hard-Dance Club 2004’ with the clubs success, Jason’s success has followed.
Since launching Nuklearpuppy Jason has guested at some of Britains best club nights & tours, including Inside Out, Goodgreef, Promise, Storm, Sundissential & Frantic. He played alongside the biggest names in the scene including, Judge Jules, Fergie, Anne Savage, Eddie Halliwell, Yoji Biomehanika, JFK, The Tidy Boys, BK, Nick Sentience, Rob Tissera, Don Diablo, Hennes & Cold, Adam Sheridan, Justin Bourne, Phil Reynolds, Paul Maddox, Ingo, Charlotte Birchand and many more. Playing alongside this calibre of star, has helped Jason to perfect his DJing skills. His entertaining sets never fail to please, playing varied styles to best suit the clubs and crowds, from tuff trance and techno tinged house right through to dance-floor friendly hard-dance and uplifting hard-house, cutting, scratching and dropping accapellas along the way. Blazing a trail of glory across the dark skies of Scotland’s club-scene, the passion and enthusiasm that he brings to the decks, where ever he plays, is infectious, never failing in his desire to make people dance.

With a thriving DJ career well underway, his studio work is also making waves . With collaborations, remixes and solo tracks on the World famous Nukleuz Records, as well as the well respected Recharge Records, Jason has also seen a great deal of success with his Nuklearpuppy Record label. Launching in October 2004, the first release, ‘Fuk’d In The Ass’ by Ben Kaye & Neil Appeal, featuring a Colin Barratt remix was featured on Lisa Lashes ‘Lashed In The UK’ compilation, as well as getting rave review from across the countries finest DJ’s. The second release, ‘Cortez & York EP1’ by Jason and Phil York, featuring ‘Gangsta Beats’ & ‘Rhythm Beater’, has been received with equal praise, with ‘Rhythm Beater’ featuring on Amber D’s mix on the Hard Dance Republic compilation. The third release, Phil York’s ‘Danger, Danger’ has been featured on the new Extreme Euphoria compilation, alongside future anthem ‘God’, by Jason himself. Featuring a James Lawson remix, ‘God’ has been one of the biggest tracks across England, with Anne Savage, Lee Haslam, Nick Sentience & Phil Reynolds all supporting it. With his latest track on Nuklearpuppy, ‘Listen To Me’ also set to be massive and with new production work recieving support from the scenes biggest players, Jason is one to watch in 2005 on the production front.
