WEMF2006 - World Electronic Music Festival [ Static Link : iCal ] |
City: | Canada, Ontario, Toronto |
Time: | Fri Jul 21, 2006 @ 12:00pm |
Info: | Destiny55: WEMF2006 The 12th Annual World Electronic Music Festival July 21-23, 2006 – Tweed, ON WEMF2006 is presented by: Destiny, Temporal Rhythm, Projek, Cutting Edge, PeAAk Promotions, Republik Events In association with: REV, BPMTV, Goodfellaz Crew, Milk Audio, World of Drum and Bass THE 3 DAY EXPERINCE The 12th Annual World Electronic Music Festival or simply the “3-Day” as it’s become known over the years, is the 2006 installment of the largest and longest running event of its kind in Canada. With a rich variety of music, artists, performers and music lovers from around the world, it is an experience that is unique and enduring for all those who have made it part of their lives. It is the 3-Day Experience that we invite you to enjoy once more and potentially one last time. After searching across the province the WEMF collective has chosen a site that will allow it to create an event that is true to the roots of where WEMF came from and what it has become. A remote, forested campground, located on a crystal clear lakefront will bring all the music back outside where it belongs. Camping, dancing, enjoying the company of friends and everything else that the 3-Day Experience allows can only be enhanced by the presence of the sun and the stars! With this return to nature, we are also transforming the 3-Day Experience to a themed environment that will create a completely new level of connection and interaction with the music, the land and each other. In 2006 all stages will be themed. Travel through the experience by Air, Sea, Land and Space. Travel into your Mind and through Time into the future. We invite those new and old to join us for a completely fresh but quite likely final, 3-Day Experience! A wide array of camping environments can be found at this year’s venue, including grassy fields, shady forests and a sandy beach. In an effort to enhance the event and your interaction we have created a "Best Theme Camp" Contest open to all campers. There is no registration needed as the judges will be voting on their favourite set-ups from the entire event as they walk the grounds on Saturday afternoon. Be sure to plan your site in advance with your friends and you could win a cash prize awarded on Saturday at dusk. Please look to our website for a detailed list of permitted camping items and all contraband. Campfires A small cooking fire is permitted in your campsite provided there is no fire ban for the area. Firewood will be for sale inside the event. There will also be a large communal Fire-Pit @ the Cutting Edge Stage. WEMF Rangers One of the things that makes the 3-Day Experience unique is the variety of DIY stages setup throughout the venue. All Renegade sound systems must pay an electrical hook-up fee or build a safe sound buffer for the generator. Please visit [ WEMF.com ] for all the rules and regulations around setup and noise allowances Parking and RV info Paid parking at WEMF2006 will be on-site and in the camping area. Most patrons will likely be able to park at their campsite. If you do not wish to park at your campsite or the campsite parking area is full you may also park in the designated overflow area, also located right on the event grounds. You are permitted to bring licensed Recreational Vehicles of any size to WEMF2006. There will be a limited number of electrical hook-ups available for a fee on a first-come, first-serve basis by purchasing a WEMF2006 RV ticket at any Ticketmaster location in Canada or Western NY.
