Info:Myagi aka Sole Claw aka Andrew Mavor has shot up like a rocket over the last year. Representing Canada internationally, he has played from Seoul to San Francisco, Halifax to Brighton, Taipei to Toronto, and has become touted as the next major North American breaks don. Comparisons to the other big names of the scene seem obvious, but don't really do justice to the range of work Myagi has put out, as his releases have varied from hip hop big beat infused party breaks through to jackin house and techy big room floor fillers.

Dropping a guitar in favor of a synthesizer well before finishing high school, Mavor's musical journey has landed him across the board support. The late John Peel (the Peel Sessions) used a Myagi track to open his show. Front 242 have sent kudos on a track ("Sole Claw - Smartbomb") that was licensed to Fingerlickin for the Plump DJ's album "Saturday Night Lotion."

The string of red hot releases that followed have landed him sets on the BBC, the CBC and Crystal Method's Community Service and support from everyone from Adam Freeland and Meat Katie through to Fatboy Slim and Freddy Fresh. Myagi's multi-genre approach to dance music has matured into a true journey through b-boy and rave culture, mashing up past and present in one of the most high energy, pounding experiences a club could play host to. His shows at clubs like The Guvernment in Toronto have led to high profile gigs internationally, including such highlights as Fabric in London, Fusion in Taiwan and San Francisco's Love Parade, where Myagi played three parties in 12 hours.

His upcoming releases include remixes for Ursula 1000 (coming out on Thievery Corporations label ESL), hip hop don Maestro (as in Fresh Wes), and a giant remix for Ricky Stone. He has two tracks licensed to JDS's "Beats N Bobs" compilation on Functional Breaks, more remixes in the works, and a release schedule that puts most labels to shame. Touring constantly, Myagi is one of the hardest working men in the North American dance music, and, with his profile rising at an extremely rapid pace he has quickly turned himself into a staple of the global breaks scene.

Sonny D

Sonny discovered DJing in Grade 3. At 8 years old, armed with his uncle's hand-me-down home stereo and an armload of home-made lighting effects, Sonny would hold dances right in the classroom, playing records, tapes and even 8-tracks at lunch time. By grade 5 he was hosting school sanctioned lunchtime “discos” in the school gymnasium and was promoting teenage dances through his years in junior high. Now, over 2 decades later, Sonny is still hard at it, rockin’ clubs and parties like the seasoned veteran that he is.
Sonny holds residencies with the East Coast’s longest running production company, Massive Productions as well as MOVETHEMASSES, SubRosa after-hours club and the Evolve Tribe in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Liquid Ice in St John’s, Newfoundland, and [ Vinylslut.ca ] in Calgary, Alberta to name a few. It is flawless mixing and an ever-changing selection of fun and funky house, techno and breaks that have earned Sonny the largest following of any electronic music DJ on Canada’s East Coast. This has allowed him to maintain a very hectic schedule of events across the Atlantic Provinces and beyond. Check out [ www.movethemasses.com ] for more information and event schedule.
