Description: | The Crown Vandals' Tim and Tim totally freak the folk out. Recently described as sounding like "if Noah Lennox spent his childhood at the Renaissance Fair and hung out with a lot of classical musicians and Alec Onsworth." [ elanalevin.com ] and featured on Said The Gramophone. The Crown Vandals have just released their first EP - "The Guenevere EP" - as a free download, and are receiving great press from all over the blogosphere. They're about to embark on a US tour! [ www.myspace.com ] The Belle Game play brilliantly lush folk-rock, reminiscent of The Shins or Wilco in the best of ways. Beautiful boy/girl vocals, banjo, violins, great stuff. Their new EP "Inventing Letters" is out now to fantastic reviews: "Inventing Letters is a hot cup of tea, twinkle lights, a bear hug, fresh baked bread and snow falling when the sun is out." - Venus Toshiba (The Aural Kinetic) [ www.myspace.com ] Oxen Talk is a Montréal-based folk-popera trio consisting of the loopy and lanky Vancouver natives Luke Neima and Adrian Levine, and the American yokel Bob Lamont, who hails from West Fulton in upstate New York. They use an absurd variety of instruments (Guitar Piano Banjo Cello Violin Trumpet Clarinet French Horn Pennywhistle Jaw Harp Whistle etc etc) to blend folk, gospel, doo-wop, and indie-rock into small bagatelles.
