NewElectronic: A multimedia art show for computer graphics, photography and live/DJ ambient electronica. Graphic content will explore a variety of themes and styles - all pieces generated or manipulated by digital media tools. Artwork will be displayed via projectors and continuously rotated throughout the evening. Musical content will focus on IDM and Ambient Electronica. These genres are at the cutting edge of sound generation technology - some of the most innovative and beautiful electronic music being produced today. Art presentations start at 8:00pm. His sound can best be described as a creative synthesis of emotive melodies and forceful, edgy percussion. Simon Guibord (Hull, Sulpont Records) Intense and captivating audio manipulation combined with complex, hypnotic rhythms. Simon creates a dynamic combination of textures that lead the listener into new audio territories. Beautiful and heartfelt electronica. /---------------- Featured DJ's: Aia (NewElectronic, Ottawa) Melodic ambient electronica from around the world. Jean-Francois Blanchette (Sulpont, Hull) Warm, eclectic, ambient melodica. /---------------- Featured Visual Artists: Sterling T. Jones (Ottawa) Cacotrips - A collage series exploring the unsobering experiences of one Sterling T. Jones. "Examining the line between what is aweful and what is beautiful, further questions arise." FIRST PUBLIC SHOWING Deborah Pasternak (Ottawa) An emerging artist who enjoys capturing unusual perspectives through her photography. Beautiful, unmanipulated, thoughtful compositions. [ www.deborahpasternak.com ] James Campbell (Ottawa) Abstract photography and synthesized pictures with a focus on mangled geometric imagery. Intense and captivating pieces. "Mass Transit Geometry". Adam Looker (Ottawa) Interesting angles on everyday objects. A series of vibrant and colourful macro photographs. Rheanna Fraser (Ottawa) With a talent for creating life-like hand drawn pieces across a range of natural mediums, Rheanna will be exploring manipulated photography with an eye for interesting natural phenomena. Skymonkey (Ottawa) Last NewElectronic saw Zibibbo transformed into a kaleidoscope of colour and texture.
