Info: | The Incredible Melting Man London, ON - 2wars & A Revolution records Breaks Anthony Hudson has undisputedly been labelled one of Canada’s most respected producers and remixers. Under his guidance, 2Wars & A Revolution Records, the label he helms, has risen to prominence as a force on the international electronic music scene. But the Melting Man has a long history that stretches back deep into exploratory days of the early nineties... It all began auspiciously, as The Melting Man’s first residency was taking over turntable duties from John Aquaviva (+ 8 Records founder) in their home town of London, ON. Aquaviva’s career choices were a bluprint for The Melting Man, both as a DJ and a producer, and soon Laprotomy (Jet Propulsion Records), a double CD, was released, ensuring Anthony’s status as a genuine Canadian electronic music pioneer. The gigs came fast and furious, and The Melting Man garnered international attention, finally signing with famed UK label Dust2Dust. His first release, Funky Plaid Coat, was a smash success, topping DJ charts and playlists throughout Europe and North America. Additionally, he delivered all the bumpers for Much Music and scored the best selling Virgin Interactive game, Deathdrome (which sold 500,000 copies in the UK), thus peaking the interest of up-and-coming production company, Obsrd o3]. Obsrd asked Anthony to score their film project, No Tomorrow. The success of the film and soundtrack made a spin-off label almost inevitable, thus 2Wars & A Revolution Records began. The first two years of 2Wars saw a solid stream of ground breaking tracks hand picked by Anthony himself as A&R. 2Wars is now considered one of the top five breakbeat labels in the world. 2002 was proof of Melting Man’s ability to generate hype with three top ten UK hits this year alone on the DJ Magazine charts! In 2003 Anthony hit the road with a series of U.S. and Canadian tours that were wildly successful. Now, 2004 sees Melting Man bumping his production and release schedule up to double the work load, so get ready! The Incredible Melting Man stands as a true Canadian pioneer, with a solid international reputation and following.
