Description: | The premise is simple: 2 cities, 16 dj’s, 1/2 hour sets. Montreal. Toronto. Montreal. Toronto. Etc… less like a battle, more like a domestic dispute. And like a domestic dispute… there are no winners. Just a lot of fun. We will begin the evening with a performance by special guests: DREAMCATCHER. With: TORONTO: ERROL – base war, math hooker – having thrown the legendary math hooker parties with knifehandchop and currently organizing the highly entertaining base war events as well as having released 2 albums under his SINCERE TRADE moniker this man know music. Expect danceable mashups and references to all genres of electronic music. IRON WILL – host of a number of dub and reggae weeklies in Toronto. The iron man is bringing that ol’ school new wave post rock sound this time. Just how you love it. DJ BLNDR, - pin:ksox. Lost compound – winner of round 2 of breakcore elimination challenge. blndr is an organizer of the sporadic and wikked lost compound.events. blndr spins a harsh raga hardcore jungle like you’ve never heard. Make yr head spin! NWODTLEM – wrong music, hmcr – a veteran breakcore tape mixer, nwodtlem is now giving people spontaneous erections with his JAWA style video mixing. Look it up. RADIATE – pin:ksox – radiate brings that gangsta shit. R’n’b jams and southern discomfort. Na’ mean? LUKE PERIL – Toronto expat and current montreal resident. Luke got so home-sick he insisted on playing for the Toronto team. Expect some frenetic breakcore spazzouts. THE FIRST SEED – lost compound – performing everything from electronic harsh noise to live jazz to pounding breakcore madness this man never leaves one feeling underwhelmed. You will go home dizzy. OTHERPEOPLESMUSIC – pin:ksox – ol’ school pin:ksox figurehead and one half or the minds behind the breakcore elimination challenge events, otherpeoplesmusic plays just that. MONTREAL: 1-SPEED BIKE – broklyn beats, constellation – former drummer for all the bands you like to reference, 1-speed also makes some of the weirdest little electronic ditties. His take on the world is certainly unique and makes for some fun ass sets. GAMBLETRON – fresh off her european tour, improvisational/soundcollage maverick GAMBLETRON played a drunken set here at the bloc that had everyone in the room captivated and entertained. Here’s to donning the scaffold and downing some drinks for us again! DJULIE D. – having toured the world playing records before settling in montreal, Julie is also a winner of breakcore elimination challenge (the first ever). Julie plays a mixture of jungle, electro and breaks that’s sure to square her up nicely with blndr. DJ YOUTH CONTEMPORARY – against language productions– with a name like dj youth contemporary, you know this will be a memorable set of obscure music. FERINE – pin:ksox. Girl guides - as a member of awesome 3some the girl guides, ferine gets all the bodies in the audience swooning. His mastery of fine jungle, dancehall and hip hop most certainly has something to do with that. KARN – girl guides – also a member of the girl guides. This night we get the special treat of a solo set of his electrified remixes of ol’ school jams and dancehall. Set yr booties to shake ladies and gentlemen. ANNA LEV – a member of the venus ckut collective, anna will be playing an eclectic mix of music sure to be popular with the youth of today. DJ DALBRAY – taking time off from his job at le pick-up, dj dalbray is well versed in the dubstep. BOOMING BASS beats I’m sure… Doors open at 8pm. Music at 9pm. $8 at door.
