For most it is hard to believe that he is born in Pakistan. In fact the name “Plink” comes from P (for Pakistan)-Link. At an early age Plink, real name Nasir, started loving music while listening to bollywood songs & reciting religious “Naats” before the beginning of classes at his elementary school in Islamabad. Besides being a young artist he was a top student. At the age of 10 in 1997, Nasir moved with his family to Montreal which still is his city of residency. It wasn’t hard for this young kid to make new friends since he is an outgoing, sociable & fun person to hang out with. With music still running through his blood, he never stopped singing & started writing lyrics of his own. Freestyling with his friends around the block, messing around with computer programs such as fruity loops to create beats & performing in front of school & community friends became a daily routine for Nasir. But High school is where Plink discovered & decided that he really wants to grow himself in the music industry so he started giving more time to his music than his homework. He took part in the concentrated music program of Saint-Luc High School & played drums for more than 4 years in his class orchestra where he learned to read music as well. He also took part in theatre shows such as The Lion King, A Fiddler on the Roof & Tradition as a stage actor & singer. Meanwhile, Plink started beat-boxing & is rated one of the best by Montrealers all over the city. He started performing live in high schools, community centers & halls to get his name out and to put his talent into practice. So with all that huge musical background in effect, Plink decides to be a Disc Jockey. Early days were a bit hard for Plink but since he is a quick learner & accepts challenges, he got used to any equipment he has ever played with pretty fast. His first club was Circus afterhours in Montreal at the age of 16. He was playing for the 14-18 events being held there at that time by Ghost Productions. Here are the names of some other clubs Dj Plink already mixed at: Club Soda, Tonic, I-Nightclub, 1234, Orchid, Copacabana, Loco Loco, Koi Lounge, Seven, Pearl(Laval), Star-Bar(Quebec) & so on. He has also spinned alongside artists like Massari & Tony Touch. Currently DJ Plink is moving around at several clubs & private parties across Canada. Besides mixing he is creating beats, producing artists & recording tracks of his own. He is also building contacts worldwide to be able to perform in different cities & please his fans outside of Montreal. We are also proud to announce that [ www.DjPlink.com ] is now official & running. If DJ Plink has to be described in one word it would be versatile. That’s right, this young DJ knows himself from house to dancehall music, from hip-hop to soca music & his versatility shows nevertheless in him being a DJ & an artist. In a few words, DJ Plink is the best entertainer alive. He is what businessmen would call a complete package. His top 5 place at the Montreal DJ Awards, millions of views on his YouTube channel, hundreds of plays on his MySpace page everyday & “love at first sound” kind of sets make him the most unforgettable & inspiring DJ/artist you will ever know. © 2009 DJ Plink [ www.DjPlink.com ] |
