Description: | Forward was established in the summer of 2008 as platform to promote underground electronic music, filling the absence of a weekly rendez-vous for the alternative club scene. Originally thought out to be a hosting ground for drum’n’bass, jungle, breaks and dubstep, Forward grew and evolved into a night made to showcase a wide array of genres and scenes working with a variety of different crews and artists such as Loetech, Sixtoo............, DZ, Datsik, Spor and Plastician, to name a few. **************** THIS WEEK Forward is proud to welcome, for the very first time on passeport's decks, Harmsworth, as well as having Living~Stone up their for the first time in way too long! Last chance to use those free passes! **************** Harmsworth [ www.wickedbad.net ] Mark Harmsworth has been honing his dj’ing skills for over 8 years now and has accomplished much since stepping up and playing live in the last 4 years. A co-founder of Halifax collective ‘Break Beat Elite’ and ‘Halifield’ . Harmsworth is known for his ability to please a crowd, be it with jungle, breaks, glitch hop , electro, house ,dub step or a combination of all six. Mark has played all over the East Coast, opening for Big League Chu, Myagi, Mistress Barbera, RCola, Marty McFly, Bombaman, Mark Insticts and the UK’s J-Bass and Lee Coombs as well many local favorites. With a Monthly residencies offering Halifax and Mocton the only regular drum and bass/breaks party, as well as organizing steady BBE and Halifield collective shows and the dedication and skill to win the Reflections DJ Idol, Mark Harmsworth has got to be one of the hardest working DJs in Halifax. A hero to those who love their beats broken, Harmsworth will rinse out the roughest and the toughest of riddims in style. **************** Living~Stone [ www.soundcloud.com ] Living~Stone is a genre-busting performer melding frequencies of dub, dubstep, hip hop, glitch hop, D&B mid-tempo and all things fat and funky into a sonic experience he likes to call Bass Culture. He has shared the stage with many prominent international Bass Music headliners including Skream, Benga, Bassnectar, Eskmo, Sub Swara, Goth Trad, Taal Mala, Komodo, Ill Gates, Nosia and many more. Living~Stone is the co-founder Dig.iT.aL, an open source collective of artists and musicians throughout North America, Europe, and where ever people can be found that truly Dig iT aLL. Home Base is Montreal, Canada where Living~Stone is one of two residents of the monthly FreeDemBass dubstep nights at Blizzarts Lounge on the second sunday of every month. **************** + FORWARD RESIDENTS: Rhys Taylor, a nightlife legend who has been playing alongside big names of the international electronic music scene in Montreal for almost 10 years now. Holding down "Your Radio is Broken" on CKUT for the past 5 years, throwing Mix Thursdays for almost 3 years, a residency at Blue Dog, Saphir and then Blizzarts with Broken Crew and bringing breaks to Stereo are a few of his accomplishments. David Rawalia aka Wally, a dj who has been mastering his craft since 2003 and more recently producing his own unique sounds.
