From day one Kick hasn't limited herself and has explored a variety of genres. Her sound has gravitated to the breaks side of the record, but not without absorbing characteristics of the house, techno and electro styles she is familiar with and loves. This eclectic flavor is evident in her sets, which have been described as "above the norm", while still remaining hard and funky. Kick received a warm welcome from the outset of her move to Toronto by the Breakfest crew who invited her to play their nights at System Soundbar. Her continually growing success has propelled her to play at all of Toronto's top electronic music venues including the Guvernment Entertainment Complex, Tonic, Element as well as various events throughout Southern Ontario and Upstate New York. Over time Kick has performed for companies such as Om, Pure Phunk, FOCUS, Back Breakers, Fresh Entertainment, Womp!, Activate, Mono and more. Not bound to the limits of DJ'ing, Kick has also worked the promotional side of the scene. Her latest endeavor being a string of successful monthly events called Freebass. The Freebass events, held at Nasa Dance Pub, showcased Toronto's top breaks and electro DJ's while delving into the many different facets of breakbeat. While Kick can be found rockin' out at a club near you at night, by day she is a pillar and founding member of 2 The Beat where she is the breaks and electro buyer. Over a short period of time, 2 The Beat has gained tremendous recognition as one of Toronto's top record shops based on a reputation of delivering family style customer service to meet specialized music needs. The next frontier on Kicks' conquer list is the airwaves. Her Sunday night show on [ club246.com ] is simultaneously aired on 100.7 FM in Toronto and 97.9 in Ottawa. Alongside Red Turtle, she is also the host of an internet only show called "Broken Down Radio" which can be heard at anytime at [ 1groove.com ] To top it all off, Kick assists D-Monic in the track selection and programming of the breakbeat stream on [ icebergradio.com ] In a few short years Kick has forged her spot in the Toronto electronic music scene through dedication, passion and hard work. With all this experience under her belt and a hunger for new challenges, the future looks bright for this young star. Decepticon Hailing from Toronto, Canada, Matt Dublin is one of the most diverse DJs who is constantly striving on breaking new musical ground. Formally known as Decepticon, this veteran DJ of eight years is known for leaving carnage on the dance floor with his unique style of cutting, scratching, and on the fly remixing. Matt began spinning hip-hop at the tender age of 15 representing ISC at all the large all-age events in the city. As a result of his hard work, Matt landed a residency spinning hip-hop at Jet nightclub every Friday night in early 1999. After an inspirational trip to Ireland, Matt was exposed to a new form of electronic music; and Decepticon was born. From 2000-2002 Matt held residencies with some of Toronto’s best rave companies such as Nightmare, Big Bud, Serenity, his own UrbanfunK and travelled to play shows in Fredericton, Calgary, Syracuse, Buffalo, Ottawa, and London. A banker by day and DJ by night, Matt focused on playing some of Toronto’s hottest venues in 2003 including System Soundbar and Element. Most notably, Matt showcased his raw sense for crowd-pleasing at the world renowned Guvernment for Heineken’s Thirst DJ competition in which he placed 2nd, earning the chance to play alongside Paul Oakenfold. On the production tip, Matt landed a remix for Santos on Chicago’s Funktion Recordings label, had original work signed to Jelo’s mix CD “Scarlem Sessions†and, most recently, has been working on a remix for Toronto’s own Bugeyed Records. Currently Matt can be found at one of Toronto’s greatest record shops as one of the house, hip hop, and break-beat buyers alongside superstar Dj Kick, and on [ 1groove.com ] where he hosts an internet radio show pushing the musical boundaries each week. Matt also belongs to Fused Artist management based out of New York whose clients include Vitamin D, CZR, Dj Assault, Josh the Funky One, and Chris Anderson. Matt Dublin’s keen ability to read crowds and energetic stage presence have cultivated a following across Canada and 2004 promises to be a break-out year for this Toronto native. MAD Since exploding onto the trance scene 2 years ago, DJ Mad has electrified crowds with his mad technique, wicked track selection, and tremendous on-stage presence. Despite his incredibly busy schedule, Mad has a solid reputation for being quite approachable and very involved in the local scene. In the past 4 years, he's helped numerous promoters book venues and DJ's. He also helped them design a plethora of party flyers and dance related web sites. For him, every event is truly unique. No matter the size or the venue, he's always entirely devoted and gives his best. Since he started mixing, he has been booked at more than 100 events and his passion for music keeps growing at lightspeed. What started off as a simple hobby 2 years ago is now a way of life. He spun at some of the biggest parties in Quebec, playing alongside top international artists such as Above & Beyond, Push, Airwave, Lab 4, Kevin Energy, Manu le Malin and many others. He also mixed the official "Evolution Radar One 6" CD, regarded as one of the biggest festivals in Canada. Also known as quite versatile, he can spin anything from acid techno to freeform but is best known for spining hard trance. He would define his style as an explosive mix of energetic melodies, heart pounding basslines, and earth shattering kicks. In november 2002, he felt the need to start producing. Only three months later, he started playing some of his tracks at local events and the crowd response was overwhelming. During spring 2003 he teamed up with DJ Nutron for their debut track on Fevah Records "Going Down". Mad is now a resident DJ and producer of one of the world's leading hard dance label, Fevah Records. Nutron Thierry Parent is an unconditional electronic music lover, influenced by the musical rise of the trance movement. 2 years ago, he decided to start producing his new favourite music. He had always been into music and this new genre of music was exactly what he had been looking for. He started producing some Trance along with hard trance and some Nrg, and this quickly led him to start djing.. Nutron was born. He then joined the ranks of Delirium Promotions & Productions, and quickly started playing in front of small crowds. His style quickly won their hearts, and his professional career grew at an alarming rate. After only a couple of months behind the turntables, his talent brought him to play at Level After-hours. That night was memorable and convinced Nutron to pursue his professional career. Following that, he appeared in many parties next to renowned artists such as Commander Tom, Kevin Energy, Binary Finary, Trance Control, and more. All to confirm he had his place amongst the big names. His success was still just starting when he got a residency at Soho Lounge Night Club, a club showing off the best DJs and producers in the area of Montreal. After that, he was seen spinning at many of the major events around Montreal in the hard dance scene. After only one year behind the turntables, he was getting out of town bookings to show off his unique blend of hard trance and hard nrg. Nutron has been producing for 2 years, but it was after one year that he truly exploded. Since then, his technical know-how has skyrocketed and he has been producing tunes which have been making dance floors everywhere go wild. He is currently signed with Fevah Records, one of the major international hard dance labels, to get his songs heard around the planet. He is also working closely with another established DJ in montreal called DJ Mad to create even better songs. Their first song together is called “going down†and has been getting massive praise.
