Description: | Urban Night Sounds is back after this short summer, to expose Montreal’s emerging urban talents at the Main Hall (5390 St-Laurent) the new clean and classy loft venue on the Main Street. Join talented visual and air brush artists, painters , photographer and musicians as they showcase their skills on this special night .UNS is truly establishing itself as the source for new urban talent in Montreal and with over 3000 in prizes to be won, December 10th promises to be a spectacular evening. Here are some of the participants for the 2nd edition of UNS: 4D’z Societiez 4 D’z Societiez (winner of the 2004 hip hop 4 ever contest) is one of Canada’s hottest most promising unsigned rap band. Based out of Montreal, the band fuses organic hip-hop beats with lyrics of conscience recalling the spirit of rap’s Golden Age Era and the social consciousness of names like Public Enemy, KRS-ONE or even 2pac. Mixing the old and the new school with influences that range from hip-hop to rock to soul and jazz, 4Dz explore different styles of rap grooves, beats, themes and flows bringing a new flavour to the music world. El Verso Former known for his good work with popular group such as L’Assemblée, Le Cerveau, La Réplik, La Taktika, El verso is coming back to the Montreal art scene after one year off, with new composition were hip-hop, reggae, Latin groove and jazz blend perfectly to give us a taste of the vibrating culture of our beautiful city. Terminal Skillness Kim McKenzie (Halifax, NS) has been breaking independently for 4 years. She has traveled all across North America to enter battles, perform in shows, and to give and partake in dance workshops. Jennifer Casmir’s (Montreal, QC) recent explosion onto the break scene in Montreal has turned many heads. She has been breaking for 5 years and her dance-related travels have taken her from Los Angeles to as far as Paris for special events and workshops. She has choreographed and performed in a number of independent pieces that were a part of festivals such as Edgy Women and Meow Mix. Currently Jennifer is teaching break classes in Montreal. Terminal Skillness is the product of years of training and varied dance experiences that come together in the form of the dynamic b-girl duo, Kim and Jennifer. Fresh styles and raw energy characterize these two best. Get ready to feel the realness.....
