Extras: | APOCALYPTICA presents... CAKESTEP ft... +++ Max Ulis +++ APOCALYPTICA is proud to present this true bad man direct from Vancity. Max is known internationally for spinning and producing the wikidest new low frequency sounds, as a solo artist, and as a part of Vancouver's Lighta! crew. Come show love! Prepare for total destruction. "I've been djing for about 10 years and producing for around four. I got into dubstep through my love of jungle, techno, and grime (electronic music in general), I did a grime weekly for about a year in Vancouver with a couple friends. At around the same time grime was kinda falling off for me I spent a little time in London and picked up a couple 12's like Coki "Officer", Vex'd "Lion" and got really excited about the sound. I started blending these darker elements into my set and about half the people loved and the other half hated it. This went on for some time until Michael Red asked me to become part of lighta! and things started getting more interesting. We were playing parties that had dancehall, jungle, dub, glitch and dubstep all on the same night and people were coming, and then alot of people were coming, and then all of a sudden we had a community. This community is what inspires me to make music. I have been lucky enough to appear alongside the likes of The Mad Professor,Kode 9, Skream, Dj Vadim, The Bug, Bassnectar, Benga, Caspa, Hatcha, Loefah, Megasoid, Ghislain Poirier, Chefal, Starkey, Youngsta, Dj C, Filastine, Knifehandchop, Deadbeat, and the legendary Remarc. I would like to add that I have a beard and I like waffles and long walks by the ocean... and hate bios" + Vilify - Mtl Jenny Carmichael a.k.a. VILIFY has the ammunition to throw down the most energizing and corrupt sounds on your dance floor. Her signature skull crushing dnb-breakcore sets come hard and fast, seducing you into a dancing frenzy, manipulating tracks into a one man assault on your senses and leaving you positively reeling - and only wanting more. Not limited to hardcore sound barrage, Jenny demonstrates versatility all over the dnb spectrum with solid old-school jungle, liquid-funk, raggacore, hardstep and anthems. However, her new-found love for dubstep means you might catch her throwing down one of her notoriously heavy, terror-dubstep sets. Appearing alongside the likes of Dieselboy [US], Skynet [UK] and Capital J [CAN], making finalist at the 2007 DJ Olympics, and multiple appearances at your favorite Atlantic Summer Festival ‘Evolve’; Vilify has proven that she can keep up with the big boys of bass, demonstrating her staying power and huge potential in the drum and bass scene. Developing her style and exploring new domains, DJ Vilify has built up an enviable reputation and skill base that has won over crowds everywhere. From a residency at Toronto’s West-End Productions, as well as East Coast residencies with BreakBeatElite, Synister Sounds, GTP & The Halifield Movement, this rising star is taking over North America, one smashed dance floor at a time. Her weekly Wednesday at Montreal’s KOI Bar pushes the hardest and darkest DNB, dubstep, breakcore and everything else fast and heavy. Watch out for this pretty little thing, her dirty beats will destroy your soles. + All nite tripuals by Matt Williston!!! Oh... and Sabine and Shakila are both getting older. Come celebass with us! 15$ at the door GOING ALL NITE LONG |
