| Info: | Ottawa School of Art raises funds to make Art for Everyone! Supporters of visual arts education will come together on Monday, June 5 at 6:30pm at the Minto Art for Everyone / L’art pour Tous! fundraising event, presented by the Ottawa Schoolof art. The Ottawa School of Art will stage its first annual Minto Art for Eveyone! / L’art pour Tous! fundraising event in support of the school’s operations and programs on June 5th at Minto’s 5th Avenue Court in the Glebe. The Ottawa School of Art has been an Ottawa institution since 1879. The OSA has programs for everyone at all levels of interest, including a diploma program, children’s program and an outreach program that provides visual arts courses for children in need in their own communities. Minto Art for Everyone! / L’art pour Tous will raise money in support of the school and all its activities so that art in the city of Ottawa can truly be for everyone. The event will feature the following: Reception with hors d’oeuvres, cash bar, live jazzy DJ Jason Pelletier Our host and MC for the evening will be Sandra Abma, national arts reporter for CBC Radio Silent and live auction with Lawrence Greenspon Auction preview at the school in the days leading up to the event Live, wet art-making featuring students and instructors from the school. The works created will be part of the live auction The Ottawa Visual Arts Awards ceremony, celebrating gifted artists and leaders in business and culture in the city. Senator Jim Munson will present the awards Let Them Eat Cake! a showcase of Ottawa’s culinary talent where chefs are given artistic license “Ottawa is a large and diverse city that needs and craves creative centres like the Ottawa School of Art,” notes OSA Executive Director, Jeff Stellick, “Our programs reflect and respond to the wide range of people who come to the OSA. Minto Art for Everyone! / L’art pour Tous! is our opportunity to let everyone know about the great things the school does, and to raise the funds to continue to do them!” The Ottawa School of Art is located at 35 George Street in the Byward Market Ottawa School of Art/École d’art d’Ottawa 35 rue George Street Ottawa, ON Where the money goes… Your participation in this event – for only $75 – will provide funds so that the Ottawa School of Art can: Provide tuition support for students in need through the OSA bursary program; Provide free art classes and art materials to children in need and high risk situations through the OSA Outreach Program (currently serving almost 300 students in five community groups); Provide support to students of merit through various scholarships available to OSA students; and Provide facility support in the form of new equipment for use in our Children’s, General and Diploma Programs.
