| Info: | The Beat is back this Friday, July 22, following a HUGE night with Tone Depth last week. We have three DJs who are going to keep your feet movin' and your ass shakin' at Rouge again this week.
Roman K [ ]
Roman was born in Moscow, Russia, and moved to Ottawa, Canada, at the age of 13. At that point his passion for electronic music started to emerge and when a friend played a few tracks by a well-known European DJ, he was immediately hooked on it.
From a growing love for music and getting to know the DJs of his time, Roman naturally wanted to become more than just a spectator in the scene and got his first set of decks. From that point on, and playing at parties for his friends, it progressed into playing underground sounds mixed with top 40 at clubs like Maxime, Suite 34, and Daylight Lounge where he attracted a small following. Soon after, the rising popularity of funky House music caught his attention when he picked up a few records by the likes of Antoine Clamaran, Steve Porter, Bryan Cox and others. After briefly experimenting with that genre, he finally settled on a more progressive side, which currently dominates most of his DJ sets. Roman finally got his break when he took 2nd place at UDJ competition at Surface Nightclub, which translated into greater exposure, naturally followed by more bookings in such premier clubs as Surface, Mtl, Umbrella Room, and Agora Lounge and playing along with world-renowned DJs such as Martin Villeneuve and John 00 Fleming.
At this point, Roman considers himself a much more versatile DJ than before, tirelessly trying to perfect his techniques while also exploring the production aspect of his craft. One of the biggest current projects involves being part of a quarterly trance/progressive night with John 00 Fleming and TAO nights with Martin Villeneuve which are both held at Surface Nightclub.
