Back to Basics - March 13, 2004 @ The Royal Canadian Legion - 1820 Cornwall St. Regina, Sk

Nuclear Ramjet - Montreal, QB - Psy Trance/Techno (LIVE) - [ nuclearramjet.com ]

Created in 1997, Nuclear Ramjet are now considered to be Canada’s prime trance act, having played in major festivals both here and abroad. With releases on respected labels such as Iboga, Hadshot, Turbo Trance, Ultimae and Paul Oakenfold’s Perfecto, they are now preparing for their third album. Their last album “Music For Spaceports” received critical acclaim in Mushroom Magazine and other publications. What is “Nuclear Ramjet”? Some scientists back in the 60’s (with a lot of time on their hands!) dreamed up the concept of the ‘nuclear ramjet’ engine. It was conceived as a theoretical form of interstellar propulsion using nuclear physics (the power that drives the sun!). Felix and Max got their inspiration for futuristic trance music from this very concept. Known for their depth, versatility and their inspiring live sets, Nuclear Ramjet are equally able to rock the floor at night, make the transition to dawn, or cool off heads in the morning. This is due to their complementary influences (melodic morning trance vs tech and full-on). Tracks are composed both together and separetly, by co-members, Max and Felix, resulting in a unique sound that works on many levels; sometimes dreamy, sometimes intense, and always in tune with the moment. Let Nuclear Ramjet’s music take you on a journey to the stars and beyond, as they guide you through the cool vastness of space, to the heat of the sun, before gently landing you safe and sound back home on planet earth!

Dislexik - Saskatoon, SK - Breakbeats/Techno - Pure Phunk Recordings

One of the highlights of Sunday night at Connect 2003 was twisted breaks and techno played by Dislexik. He will be returning to Regina for another jaw dropping set for your dancing needs. Dislexik always suprises dancefloors with a unique mixing style and bass heavy tracks to induce dancing mayhem. Be sure to check out his amazingly successful record "Plumpness I Can Never Have" wherever fine records are sold.

Short Fat Steve and Hardtoe - Funky Techno (LIVE)

Regina favourites Short Fat Steve and Hardtoe are without a doubt the 2 most talent techno producers ever to call our city home. As a live act they incorporate old school funk, rock, hip hop and reggae into their thumping techno sets. This duo will continue their streak of dancefloor domination at our event as they work your body, funk your soul, and possibly steal your lunch money.

Short Circuit - Drum 'n' Bass - Sentient/Severed Digit Recordings - [ sentientdjs.com ]

Rather than search the nation for a Drum 'n' Bass dj for Back to Basics we accepted a simple truth: There is no one that can compare to Short Circuit's command of the mixer and track selection. Our very own Short Circuit will beatdown any crowd and leave any skeptic speechless.

Last Name Black - Techno/House - Velcro Records - [ velcrorecords.com ]

Rounding off a perfect evening will be the task at hand for Last Name Black. This man has become one of the finest and most consistant djs that we know. As the founder of Velcro Records he has released his first mixed CD entitled "Pretty Whatever" which features a progressive journey through house, techno and deep tech-trance with beautifully blended sounds. With all these aspects taken into account we are sure you will find yourself on the dancefloor until Last Name Black is done.

Submit- Progressive House/Deep Breaks - Sentient - [ sentientdjs.com ]

Our newest Sentient member, but long-time favourite will kick off this explosive night with his own variety of dark and dirty progressive and a spattering of breaks and techno. Submit has always delivered a dynamite set where ever he plays. He will set the tone for an unforgettable evening.
